Hally x Leo

Hally is a pansexual. Leo is a nonbinary bisexual. 5th year for them both. Ha- in hally as in hat

"I cannot be late," they whispered to themselves, "Hi, can you point me to Professor Snape's room?"

"Go downstairs and turn right."

"Thank you" They yelled as they started running downstairs.

"Open your books to page-"

They burst into the room, and it dawned on them, they were late. Their worried face, turned to face of fear. 

"I am so sor-"

"Sit"

"Yes, sir." They sat next to a girl in the back.

"You should be careful."

"I'm sorry?" They turned to look at the girl, who was looking at them, and she was beautiful.

"I said you should be careful."

"Oh, right. Yeah." They looked away to get their books out. Since they bought the books, they had decorated them with pronoun stickers and flags, along with a wand sticker.

"They/them, huh?"

"Yeah." They were scared she would misgender them. 

"Cool. I'm Hally"

"Leo. Umm, what are your pronouns?" they were impressed she took it so cool. 

"She/H-"

"Hally, perhaps you would, like to teach the class." Snape said when he realized she was talking. 

"Sure," she started walking to the front, with a smile on her face, and said, "As you all saw, we have a new student their name is Leo and their pronouns are they/them. If you don't respect that, I will hex you in the most annoying way ever. Also class is dismissed."

Everyone got up, so Snape had to yell, "Sit down"

Everyone sat down immediately. No one said anything about their pronouns, so they were relieved, they just had to survive the rest of their classes.

Class ended, and Hally walked Leo to Herbology because she was in that class too. When they got in the professor yelled that the class had a new student. She called Leo up to the front.

"We have a new student. His name is-" Leo stopped her and whispered in her ear. The professor gasped and said of course to Leo.

"We have and new student and THEIR name is Leo. Their pronouns are they/them. If anyone disrespects that you will spend my class with Snape."

Most of the students became wide-eyed at the thought of spending another lesson with Snape. Leo went to stand where there weren't a lot of tables, when Hally waved them over to stand by her. 

"I'm proud of you." Hally told Leo, and they blushed. 

"While you are in my class you will be learning about fungi's and uses for herbs and plants." Professor Sprout shouted.

----time skip-----

In the dorm Leo was laying on the common room couch, when Hally came down tiredly. 

"What are you doing down here?"

"I don't feel comfortable in the girls or the boys." they whispered to Hally. She left the common area to get Professor McGonagall, but Leo didn't know that, so they went back to bed. Hally came back with Professor McGonagall and a key. She woke Leo up, and told them to come with her, and the professor opened a door in between the stairs leading up to the  dorms. Professor McGonagall introduced the gender non-conforming dorms, where everyone who wasn't a boy or girl stayed, and it was only split by years.

Professor McGonagall left and Hally went to leave, when Leo asked her to wait.

"I don't know, I should probably get to bed."

"That's ok, thank you for helping me today."

"I'll stay, also you're welcome."

Leo blushed a little and shut the door. Hally waited on the other side of the door for a second, then left. Leo found their bed, and met some of the other students living there. Ones name was Grayson* and anothers name was Dorinda.** They went to bed and cried happy tears that they had found a place where they were supported.

A few weeks later, after getting used to the new dorm, they got up, got dressed, and went down for breakfast. They sat down with Hally and some of her friends, and said good morning to everyone. One kid across them rolled his eyes and ate his pancakes. Leo noticed, and said they weren't hungry anymore and left. the kid that rolled his eyes snickered, and hally threw her apple at him, then went after Leo. 

"LEO. HOLd on." Hally yelled after them, and they stopped. She noticed that they wiped their eyes. "Hey, you ok?" Leo nodded their head and avoided turning around. Hally went in front of them and hugged them tight. They cried on her shoulder and hugged her back on the waist. Hally rested her chin on their shoulder, and told them it was okay. 

That night Leo fell asleep on the couch in the common area again. Hally brought them to their room and sat with them for a little while.

"Goodnight, Leo. I love you."

Leo was awake when she said that, so they heard her say that.

The next day, Leo hugged Hally and whispered, "I love you, too." Then went off to their third class. Hally just stood there in shock, until McGonagall told her to go to class.
