Movie Moment

She'll never come again thought Darren as he sat glumly at what used to be Jane and his normal coffee table. Even the coffee maker/seller person gave Darren a sympathetic look when he realised saw that Jane wasn't there. She won't even answer my calls. He was so sorry, he knew she probably wouldn't show up in the morning for coffee but he had thought maybe he'll catch her slip by. He wanted to apologise but she definitely wasn't making it easy. WRONG, if I am really sorry it was about time I did something about it he decided as he downed the rest of his coffee. He took one last hopeless look for Jane then stood and went home. He had already chosen a song.

It's been a week of ignoring Darren's calls and quickly passing the café from the other side of the street - all ninja style might I add - while watching Darren sit glumly by himself. Well he looked sad, but there's not much I could tell because he was still wearing those stupid glasses. At least I haven't seen that Katherine with him, I hope she had dumped him or something.

It was another boring day at work; even watching movies didn't seem to entertain me anymore. I don't know what I'm doing; I can't stop thinking about him. At times I would look out the window and see Darren sitting at the café, actually all the time I would see him. But not today, that was strange. SERIOUSLY JANE STOP THINKING ABOUT HIM. No, don't deny it Jane you miss him, and maybe you were overreacting, I mean you weren't really boyfriend/girlfriend; just admit it not being at least friend with him is killing you. My idiotic conscience, maybe it was my heart, what's the difference, told me it was time maybe to return one of his calls.

I reached for the phone when the elevator door dinged and I instinctively looked up. An unusually large amount of men had walked out and lined up in front of the door. One of them dragged a chair into the middle of the room. Another one them saw me and gestured me towards the chair. I pointed me and mouthed me? He nodded. I was too weirded out to move. Unfortunately my friend had seen and pushed me towards the chair. Looks I'll have too make my call later, maybe instead I should call security. The men started to hum a rhythm once I was in the chair, hold that thought on calling security my life looks like it just turned into a musical. Ba da ba ba baaa, ba da ba ba baaa, well you get the picture, they were accapellaing??? Hang on I knew this song.

They parted and started dancing around the room, while continuing the beat, though I wasn't interested in them because someone who appeared when they parted gained all my attention. At first I didn't recognise him without the glasses and hat which I had grown way too accustomed to. It was Darren Criss, and with surprisingly no surprise at all he burst out into song. Abba's "Take a Chance on me" to be exact.

"If you change your mind, I'm the first in line

Honey I'm still free, take a chance one me

If you need me let me know, gonna be around

If you've got no place to go, if you're feeling down

If you're all alone when the pretty birds have flown

Honey I'm still free, take a chance on me

Gonna do my very best and it ain't no lie

If you put me to the test, if you let me try

Take a chance on me

Take a chance on me"

HE WAS SINGING TO ME, MY TEENAGE DREAM, AND WHAT STILL WAS MY DREAM WAS COMING TRUE, HE WAS SINGING TO ME. But it wasn't until I saw his face that reminded me that I really was actually angry at him and that dumb Katherine, if I had called him I probably would've gotten angry again anyway. Though how could I be with THAT VOICE!

"We can go dancing; we can go walking, as long as we're together

Listen to some music, maybe just talking, get to know you better"

"Coz' you know

I got so much that I wanna do, when I dream I'm alone with youIt's magic

You want to leave it there, afraid of a love affair

But I think you know, that I can't let go"

Everyone had now gotten over the initial shock of the group of accapellaing men and had started to sing-along. I realised I definitely wasn't angry with him - about time aye - but since he was apologising to me I might as well play it cool.

"If you've got no place to go, if you're feeling down

If you're all alone, when the pretty birds have flown

Honey I'm still free, take a chance on me

Gonna do my very best, baby can't you see

Gotta put me to the test, take a chance on me

Ba ba ba baaa ba ba ba baaa

Honey I'm still free

Take a chance on me"

At the very last word he was in front of me. I could faintly hear in the background my boss yelling "someone had better taken a video of that or pictures, and someone better be taking a picture of this!!!" We were a teen magazine don't blame them. Those were the last things I thought and heard before everything was blocked out by Darren speaking. He was kneeling on front of me with a coffee cup in his hand as if it were a wedding ring as he said "Jane will you come with me to my movie premiere as my...date?" There were awww's all around the room.

OH MY GOSH YES, wait Jane keep it cool. "Hang on, the last time we talked I said I wanted to take it slow, we haven't talked for a week and you just come out with this random song and expect a yes?!" At this he smirked and stood up and pulled me up with him "yes, because you see, if I know one thing about you it's that you are a fool for romantic comedies and any feats of romance, but this is no romantic comedy this is real, c'mon take a chance on me."

I grabbed the coffee cup took a sip and waited a minute for dramatic effect - don't sue this is the closest I'll get to living a movie moment and people always pause for dramatic effect - and said "YES!" Then I grabbed his collar and pulled him in for a kiss. The sound of applause and cameras going off everywhere brought me back to reality. I said to Darren "I thought you were so obsessed at keeping a low profile". He grinned that beautiful grin of his and replied "Not with this the whole world needs to know how much I love you..." I blushed "...oh yeah and my so called 'girlfriend' had left me for the coffee waiter"

"Well that's her loss, by the way you know me being a movie critic I already had tickets provided for your movie premiere"

"Shut up, well this time I'm sure to get a good review"

"We'll see..."
