i looked up.

the boy standing next to kenji is

so.

cute.

kasia's words replayed in my head again. maybe networking won't be such a bad idea. 

"wait, you're that new kid in law class," soleil said. "i was wondering who kenji was talking to the whole time, because i didn't think he had friends in that class." 

"wow soleil, that is so nice of you to say," kenji replied sarcastically. "anyways, that's soleil, next to her is her twin sister luna, over there is kasia, then lavender, then georgia, then ashlyn," pointing to each one of us as he said it. 

"cool, it's nice to meet all of you," wilder said. 

"what made you transfer in the middle of the semester?" kasia asked. 

"i meant to transfer at the beginning of the semester, but there was a mix up so today was my first day," he said. 

"which classes do you have?" luna asked, quietly. 

"spanish, law, physics and guitar." 

"cool, i've got spanish in first block too," kasia said. 

"so do i," georgia said. "and i think i've got physics next block with you." 

"i've got law with you, but i think you already know that," soleil said. 

"i've got guitar in last block too," i piped up. "let's sit together cause i have no friends in that class." 

i cannot believe i just said that. 

"that would be amazing, thanks," he said, smiling at me. 

wow this guy doesn't stop smiling does he. 

"now that that is all out of the way, do you guys wanna go out after school to the mall or something? just to hangout for a bit," kenji said. 

"we'll be there," ashlyn said. 

"great. let's meet out at the front of the school and then we'll walk over together. we will see you all later," kenji said, then he and wilder walked away. 

"he's nice," i said. 

"wow lavender being the first person to say something about a new person," soleil said. "i'm sure you think he's cute." 

"yeah i guess he is," i admitted. 

"aw, that's cute that you think he's cute," luna said. 

"oh shut it. it doesn't mean anything," i said. "there are a lot of guys who i think are cute." 

"celebrities don't count lavender," ashlyn said. i glared at her. "sorry for telling the truth." 

"in all realness, he's a nice guy," georgia said. "he seems like a nice addition to our friend group." 

"our friend group is already small, so it' not hard to find people to join us," soleil said. "moving on, can we please work on the chemistry homework together? if i don't get this done by tomorrow, mr. zhao will be on my ass about it the whole class." 

we all laughed. 

"of course," luna said, looking over at her sister and taking out her binder. "what don't you understand about it?" 

"everything." 

we laughed again before trying to help her with the work.
