valentine's day

yesterday was really boring. wednesdays in general are bland to me, but i mainly spent the day dreading today.

and today is here.

i shut off my blaring alarm with a sigh and sat up on my bed.

feeling a tingling on my wrist, i looked down and my right wrist had the tattoo on it.

a lavender prick beside a bush and fox.

cute tattoo.

getting up, i found a white long sleeved t-shirt, a pair of black leggings a light pink hoodie and a grey, black and white flannel. i put on my outfit and tied up my hair into a bun with a red scrunchie.

hey, i don't like the occasion, but the colours are nice so might as well make the best of it.

after brushing my teeth and grabbing all my stuff, i headed downstairs to be met with my mom and my aunt setting the table.

"happy valentine's day!" my mom said.

"happy valentine's day to you guys too," i said.

"we bought some donuts, and here are some cookies if you want to bring them for school. oh! and chocolate because we know you love it," my aunt said.

"this is the only time of the year we'll allow eating sweets for breakfast so enjoy it while it's here," my mom said.

"wow thank you for all this," i said, giving each of them a hug.

"no problem sweetie. i know you don't really like valentine's day, but it's the least we could do," mom said.

"thanks mom. you're the best. now, what did dad do for you this morning?"

"well, he got me flowers, and a muffin, and another pair of fuzzy socks," she said. she looked behind me. "good morning girls! happy valentine's day!"

"thanks," luna said. "what's all this?"

"donuts, chocolate and cookies," my aunt said. "enjoy."

"thank you mom. this is great," soleil said, picking up a donut. "where's everyone else?"

"chase already headed to campus, and cyrus went out to prepare a gift for hailey."

"aw, that's cute."

"speaking of which, do you have a gift for georgia?" my aunt asked soleil.

"yup. i got her a new set of paint brushes, colored pencils and a sketchbook. she said she was running out of pages in her old one."

"nice. and are you two planning on looking for your soulmates?" mom asked luna and i.

"maybe," luna said.

"nope," i said, grabbing a donut and stuffing it into my mouth.

"i can't force you to lav, but i would consider looking for them," mom said.

"i've already kinda dressed up today," i said.

"i'll give you credit for that. you must be in a good mood today because i rarely see you wear colours on valentine's day. it's usually sad blacks and greys," soleil said.

"yeah. i thought 'why not?' because the colours are nice, i just don't like the occasion," i said.

"fair enough," mom said. "where's noah?"
