This is more of any explanation, really.
If I were to clarify the timeline, when Emma is out, getting her life together, the Battle of Hogwarts had occurred, and we all know what that means.
Fred went to meet the Marauders. And he is keeping George's ear company.
I didn't think the Weasley's would completely accept a muggle. They are kind and nice and loving, but a muggle is not something they would have been okay with. There would have been at least some friction if we stretch it. (In the books it was said that Molly had a distant cousin who was an accountant, but they never spoke about him)
And both George and Emma are only eighteen. Both dumb and incapable of making proper, thought-out decisions. And if you see, it was a simple relationship that lasted a few weeks, a fling, if you will.
Hence, I thought it would be better if they didn't get together for the long run.
