I woke up with the rays of sunshine resting on my face. I lean up to see it was morning already. I yawn, stretching my arms and legs out. I quickly get out of bed, walking over to my closet. I walk into it, searching for clothing that would best suit that day. I wear a long lavender colour dress that had long extending sleeves that went off my shoulders. The skirt was made out of a mesh-like material, with daisies all over it. I put the silver necklace on, brushing my hair in to a high pony tail, that still left a bit of my fringe out. I put the tiara on, walking out of my room and downstairs into the main room.
There was a large piano in there that I play everyday just out of boredom. I figured all the people in palace would be up anyways, and if they weren't then they wouldn't be able to hear me. My fingers press down on all the keys, allowing the piano to let out a tune. I smile a bit to myself, continuing to play out the melody. I quickly stop as soon as I saw my dad walk into the room. "Y/n" He said staring at me. I stare back at him silently. He sighed out softly. Coming over to where I was. I watch him walk over to me, still silent. "What are you doing up this early?" He asked me. "I don't know. I just woke up early so here I am." I say. He looked down at the piano, my hands still resting on it. "You play piano?" He asked me. I look up at him. "Yeah. Every morning when people are still asleep or not in this part of the house." I say dryly. "How... how long have you been doing this for?" He asked me. "7 years." I said, standing up and dusting off my dress. He stared at me with a sad look. I start to make my way towards the door when I heard my father call out to me.
"Y/n. I'm sorry we've been distant from you." He said. I stopped in my tracks, turning towards him. "We've been on the edge of war with this village for so long. We never knew what they wanted until yesterday..." He said, looking down in disappointment. I look away in sadness. "But we never stopped loving you. I wanted to do so much with you y/n, I wanted you to be like any other child. I'm so sorry you had to grow up so young..." He said, walking over to me and wrapping his arms around me. Tears start to prickle out of my eyes. "I always wanted to teach you piano... but it appears you have already learnt it as the years went by." He said. I rest my forehead on his shoulder. "This won't give back your childhood I know... but... but at least you know that me and your mother never stopped caring at all." He said, letting go of me. I wipe the tears off of my cheeks. My father gives me a small smile. "I have some business to attend to, enjoy the rest of your day, y/n." He said, walking off. I stand there for a couple of seconds, my mind trying to comprehend everything. I quickly wipe the tears off of my face, sniffling a little bit.
I run upstairs to my room, changing into the outfit I usually wear when I go into the forest. I quickly chuck the rope out and slide down it. I run into the forest, going to my usual spot. I pull my hood up, sitting down where the log usually is I look up into the sky with tears falling down my cheeks again. I hear ruffled steps behind me and a little gasp. I turn to see Lacey standing there with a smile. "Hey its you again! I made some bread if you'd like to-" She stopped mid sentence, staring at me in shock. "Athena are you crying?" She asked me, coming over to where I was. I pulled my hood more over my eyes so she couldn't fully see my identity. "Hey, what's wrong?" She asked with a worried look. I look away from her, staring at a dandelion in the grass. "My dad told me some stuff." I said. "Oh... I won't ask what since its personal... but I understand that it must of been hard to hear." She said, putting the basket in front of her. I look over at her, the sunlight hitting her face and making it glow. I smile lightly, wiping the tears off my cheek. "How was your morning?" I ask, trying to change the topic so shed smile. She looked over at me. "Well... I started planting more flowers in my garden. There is a whole variety of them, I only wish for you to see them all..." She said with a big smile. "You like gardening?" I ask. "Oh, I love it! I plant crops and flowers, that's how I make my money. But I'm glad I'm doing something I love to do." She said. I smile at her. "Maybe you could come see it?" She said to me with a smile. I chuckle. "Maybe... tomorrow?" I ask her. She nods enthusiastically. "I would love for you to come see it!" She exclaimed.
I look at her smile, how gorgeous it made her seem in the sunlight. My cheeks start to gain a bit of a pinkish hue. She looks at me. "What's your interests?" She said with an eager smile. I look at her in awe for a bit. "Uh. Well. I don't really know. I've been playing piano for a very long time..." I said. "Wow, really? That's so cool!" She exclaimed. "You think so?" I asked. "Why of course! I could only dream of having a piano." She said, falling backwards onto the soft grass. I smile lying down next to her. "So where in the village do you live?" I ask, still looking in the sky. "Just near the main well. I live in a small cottage with like 4 rooms. It sucks sometimes but it's not like I have much friends anyways." She said looking at all the clouds. "Why don't you have any friends?" I ask, looking over to her distracted face. "Well, parents kind of forced me straight into work, so I was never given much time to make friends. I then just got used to the company of plants more than people I guess." She said. I looked at her as she smiled at a cloud that looked like a horse.
"I...I'm the same." I said still looking at her. She turned her head towards mine, locking eyes with me. "Really?" She said. "Yeah. I was given a duty to complete at a young age... my parents never used to talk to me a lot, only when we were having meals." I said. She sat up still looking at me. "That's crazy I've never met anyone like me!" She exclaimed. I smiled. "Neither have I..." I said. "Oh, I'm so sorry but I have to go!" She said, getting up and grabbing her basket. "How about, 1 tomorrow, we meet here?" She asked. "Yeah, I'll try my best to make it." I said. "You better make it!" She yelled out, running off into the direction of the village. "I will..." I whisper to myself, watching her silhouette disappear. My face was a deep red, my heart beating fast. I get up, brushing all the dirt off of me. I begin my walk back to the palace.
