The flowers on this old wooden table have never moved. It's almost like they were never meant to. Mom had always told me they were fine but we all know that they are outdated and needed to be replaced.
The meal on my table looks horrible, all things considered my dad's cooking hasn't ever been good. It's my father's day off, meaning I'll get to do whatever because my mom is the only one that'll enforce anything around here.
I can't find anywhere edible on my undercooked pancakes. It's also overcooked on the edges which makes no sense but like my father always says: If there's a will there's a way. It's okay though because I have nothing else I could be eating right now. On a really good day I can pick up a bag of food from school, which we eat everything except for the dried beans. The beans never get cooked right, and I always told my mom to soak them first but she's stubborn.
I've told my dad as well. He still messed them up. He turned them black just about everytime, soak or no soak.
Though we can't afford many items we can kind of afford middle class items. We have working phones. We have an overfill of dishes and plastic containers (most of them butter containers because we like to eat butter). We also have a computer. My computer. Given to me on my 14th birthday. Right before my father's company shut down, and right before we went thousands of dollars in debt.
I've always asked them to return it. I always told them we could make profit, which we probably still can. They've always refused, though, saying, "It's special and if they were ever to get rid of it...it would be with the intention of replacing it." I was always secretly happy about this because besides my phone it had my game on it.
Many people are quick to judge and stereotype games that look like they were made for children, including the one I have.
"Minecraft." My window to freedom. Minecraft has opened so many doors for me. It's where my friends and I hang out practically every chance we get. My best friends at that. Even though my house was cold and my father's cooking was squishy... I still had Minecraft.
If I needed anything at all I could just call my friends and head into our SMP (Survival Multiplayer for those who don't know what it means). The server was made by Alex (Or clouds) so we could all play together and generally just have fun. Though often laggy because of my wifi I still find it an excellent way to cope with my mom and dad's impending divorce, something that I know will happen but of course my parents do not think so. They're trying to salvage something that was ruined months ago.
So back I go into the world of minecraft.
Back I go to my friends and the SMP.Away...
Away...
Away...
