Alex and I walk to school because on my way I see her house, and after I realized that's actually where she lived we've decided to go to school together with her every day. It sucks that it takes us to be 15 minutes late for her to actually wake up, but if I start running she will too. Problem solved.
One second though, to adore the queen that somehow puts herself together in two minutes and looks normal. She has perfect, straight black hair, and somehow her style that she goes for looks pretty okay. I mean it's a hoodie and some jeans but it's almost like her own personality. She's really pale, and her choice of a white car just exaggerates that fact. To top that off she's blind. Not really blind but she never used her glasses so she has to rely on her friends to translate what's being written on the board.
"Clouds?" I spoke as we were walking. "You know that you are the only one that hypothesized that the bird will die?" I look at the car driving past us. He's only half way in his line. Idiot.
"Yes but who's to say the bird might have a heart attack after eating those seeds?" She remarked, speaking with her hands.
"We weren't allowed to add much to them. Unless you put too much salt on yours than I believe we are fine." I look at her face, and she looks up, holding in a laugh.
"Long story short," Oh god, "I grabbed the wrong bag."
"ALEX THE BIRD!" I shouted, half squeaking. She's going to kill the poor thing.
"So anyway that's why my hypothesis is going to be correct. Literally the bird might die if she chooses to eat mine." She said, walking faster after looking at her watch.
The experiment we are doing is just placing a whole bunch of seeds in front of a bird and whichever one she eats, the person who made it gets a Gamestop credit card. Everyone decided to join, and that's a good thing because the bird has a less of a chance to die. Great.
"Angel, you know what makes me angry?" Alex questioned.
She looks at me, half staring. She looks confused.
"Well many things but none in particular," I say, not seeing whatever she is.
"Well I know the bird isn't going to eat mine. So if you win can you share the Gamestop card?" She shakes her head, almost like she's snapping out of something.
She stops walking, and starts breathing heavier. Her pupils become smaller, and I see nothing but fear in them.
"Alex?" I spit out. No answer. "Alex!" I tap her face lightly, and shake her shoulders. Her face still draws blank. Is she disassociating? "Alex?" I say softer. She moves her hand onto my shoulder.
I see it now.
Everything starts moving.....shifting. I look over at alex who is just looking around. The houses we are meant to have passed turn into a mere shadow, disappearing into the floor. The sidewalk we were on shakes now, turning into grass. The trees stay for some reason, but they, like everything else, is different.
"Alex," I tremble. "What is this?" I can't process this. How did the world become.....
Minecraft.
"I don't know, but I know this place." She takes another glance at our surroundings. "It's the plains Midnight got me some pearls from...I think. I think we've entered the SMP Angel."
Honestly I believe it. This does look all too familiar.
"What about everyone else? Are they here too?" I ponder.
Cuss warning next line
"Bitch am I Jesus?" She cringes. "I don't know. They might recognize the area and go to the housing units, maybe the community house at that." She looks at me and smiles "Your skin looks better...Finally."
"So anyway let's go to the community house." I quickly respond. I think that was a compliment, and I don't take them all that well.
Alex's skin still looks like a cloud. Purple and white. Mostly purple. And the world... It's exactly like is was in the computer.
Alex and I start running to the community house. Half way there I start to trail behind.
"Hey Do you have to go that fast?" I yell ahead of me. She stops and looks back at me, my hands on my knees, trying to catch a breath.
"Hunger bars. That's it. Have you eaten at all today? Anything before the walk?" She looks into my soul which I may or may not have depending on the game mechanics. I'd make do without one to be honest.
"I- I had nothing." I stutter.
"You need to eat!" She smacks my arm, a light bonk but powerful.
"Okay, okay." I give in. Honestly I wonder how long it'll take for her to realise I actually can't.
We walk, further into the houses, and we over hear talking in the community house, which looks bigger than it probably should.
"There is no way right? ....It's just impossible." One voice says.
I look over at alex, who has her head on the door trying to hear the conversation.
"Yeah," the other one says.
