The culprit

Together with soldiers, hoseok searched the area around jennie's and her father's palaces, but found nothing. So he thought of checking in the chambers, but he didn't get a chance to do so.

Eventually he had to come to meet taehyung empty-handed.

"Pardon me your majesty, but nothing was found around the palaces. And if we tried to check in the chambers, they would know for sure that we suspected them." Hoseok said and taehyung nodded, agreeing with him.

"I know.. drop it for now. You and general namjoon are on guard at the north gate tonight." Taehyung told and looked at namjoon.

"General namjoon, tell the guards at the north gate to look for the maid empress jungsoon described. Tell the soldiers to explore the whole empire if needed. And let everyone know that we are finding the maid whom empress jungsoon met on her way to meet emperor yoongi. Then, fearing that she will be caught by the soldiers, the culprit will surely make a plan to escape."

"Yes, your majesty." Namjoon said, bowing taehyung.

"Well then tonight we'll catch the culprit somehow."

With that determination, everyone set out for their work.

During the night, general namjoon and hoseok were secretly guarding the north gate.

For several hours they found nothing suspicious. The moonlight was shining brightly, cutting through the darkness around them in the frigid cold. The flames of the lanterns blended with the moonlight, illuminating both sides of the lofty northern gate. As midnight approached without any suspicious thing, the thought of not getting anything out of this plan filled their heart with disappointment. wouldn't work either.

But suddenly a person clothed in dark robes from head to toe appeared in the dark shadows and approached the northern gate.

"Did you see that hoseok?" General namjoon asked in a low voice and hoseok nodded, carefully watching that mysterious person's every move.

"I will go first.. you can join me after sometime. Attacking twice instead of striking at once will distract the enemy. Also we can know whether our target is alone or not. If someone else comes to the aid of our target, immediately attack them with the soldiers." General namjoon instructed and rushed towards their target, startling the said person.

The suspect tried to escape but was unable due to general namjoon's strength. At the same time, hoseok and the soldiers surrounded them. General namjoon took off the veil of the suspect and hoseok nodded conforming she looked very similar to what empress jungsoon had described.

They made no noise and secretly went to the prison with the suspect woman, keeping the secret raid that took place at night just as a secret.

Moments later, emperor taehyung and empress jungsoon arrived with tzuyu and jimin to confirm the suspect.

"Your majesty." Everyone bowed taehyung and jungkook.

"Where is she?" Taehyung asked, his voice low and dangerous.

"She's in prison." Hoseok replied, showing the way.

As taehyung walked towards the prison along with jungkook, everyone else followed them.

"Show her face!" At taehyung's command, one of the soldiers approached her and lifted up her face.

"Is she the one that gave you the tea tray?" Taehyung turned to jungkook. Jungkook's eyes were widen in fear. He didn't like violence. When jungkook saw the woman, he immediately recognized her. So he turned to taehyung and confirmed it with a simple nod.
