A Little Bit of Backstory

I climbed through the window and plopped onto my bed. I quickly threw off my clothes and slid on a nightgown. I'm not a big dress girl, but nightgowns are easiest to put on.
I pulled off my gold chain bracelet with the blue flower. I got the bracelet many many years ago from my mother. Now she's gone. It's just me and my stepfather, along with my siblings Guillermo and Isabella.
I look around to see Boots tapping on the window.
"Opps!" I cry out. I hope Papi didn't hear me. I slide the glass window open and let my monkey come in. I named him Boots for the little red shoes I would make him wear when I was little. Oh, I had the most fantastic adventures when I was little. I was able to imagine things beyond anything that could happen. That was before S.H.I.E.L.D. recruited me. The top secret organization saw my mystery solving skills and agility and wanted me as a spy/ detective. I wasn't the craziest thing S.H.I.E.L.D. had, though. I heard that there were super humans that worked there! Anyways, I've been working there for like three years, solving missions and finding out information. Mostly just easy stuff like taking back stolen items and figuring out little mysteries.
I've lived at this little yellow house for a long time. My family used to live in Mexico until I was about three, so I don't remember very much about it. Mami and Papi are both full Hispanics, but I'm half European. That's because Papi isn't my real father. I never knew my real dad. Mami said that he was going on a trip and he never came back. She always hoped he was okay. I always hoped something bad happened to him. I couldn't even think about being related to someone who had abandoned Mami.
Mami died when I was twelve, about a year before S.H.I.E.L.D. Recruited me. I was one of their youngest spies.
When I turned five, Mami and Papi gave me Boots, my little grey monkey, for my birthday. I was very little and didn't know much English, so I thought of the first non-Spanish word that came to mind: boots. After figuring out what that actually meant, I thought I needed to get Boots some boots. So, I had Papi run to the store and buy me some bright red baby boots to shove onto my monkey's feet. He actually liked them.
Guillermo and Isabella are my younger brother and sister, who are twins. They are nine years old now. I remember when they were babies, I would pretend they had superpowers. I laugh thinking of the memory.
Suddenly, I hear footsteps downstairs. I quickly jump into bed. I have mastered the art of faking sleep, learning exactly how I need to position myself and how deeply to breathe. I hear Papi open the door. He appears to be talking on the phone.
"Lo sentimos, juré que escuché algo arriba." He says before closing the door. I breathe a sigh of relief before closing my eyes and falling asleep.

Howdy people! I hope that this chapter was okay. I really enjoy writing these stories and my heart dies a little of happiness every time I see that someone has read my stories. I hope that you like reading them as much as I enjoy writing them. Feel free to comment away! No hate please, but I would absolutely love it if you were to help me out and comment what I could work on and what aspects of my writing were actually good. Thank you guys so much and I hope to update soon. Thanks again!
