The ride down the elevator seemed to take forever. I couldn't help thinking about what could happen to me. Papi was eventually going to try and find out why I wasn't home yet. He would phone Emma and when he found out I wasn't there he'd be so worried. I'm sure this mission was going to take more than a day.
Finally we reached our floor.
"Well you are going to need some transportation," the agent told me, "you can't just go around in that purple bike of yours."
"Oh, okay, um, what was your name?" I ask.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. My name is Clara." She tells me, pushing her chestnut brown hair out of her huge eyes.
"Okay, Clara," I say. The silver doors of the elevator open. Clara walks into the room. I gasp. In front of me is a beautiful black car.
"Is this what I'm driving?" I ask.
"Nope," she says, continuing to walk down the marble floor. I sigh in disappointment. We pass insane forms of transportation, from a hoverboard to a flying motorcycle to a blue box (?) to a robot-horse-drawn-carriage. We eventually stop at a section featuring... nothing.
"Is it gone right now?" I asked.
"Nope, it's right here," Clara replied.
I stared at the empty space as Clara giggled behind me.
"What's so funny?" I ask, "There's nothing there!"
She lets out a final little laugh and presses a button. Suddenly, a stunning silvery-purple jet appears.
"It teleports?" I ask.
"Nope," Clara answered, "it's invisible unless you don't want it to be."
"Qué? What?" I asked. How could that be so?
She laughed, "Why don't you go up there and try it."
She pushed the button and the plane reappeared. She pressed one more and the glass case around it lowered into the ground. I walked forward into the nothingness. Holding out my hands I strolled around. Soon, I bumped into a large metal object.
I giggled, "It is invisible!"
I found the stair and tentatively climbed up them until I found the door. I couldn't open it.
"How do I open the door?" I shouted down to Clara.
"Here," she said pressing the button. The jet was now visible. I could see a large green screen on the door. I tentatively placed my hand on the surface.
"Recognizing: The Explorer."
"Yep, that's me," I muttered under my breath, climbing into the plane. I tossed Backpack into a compartment and set The Map in a map holder. Boots and I climbed into the pilot's seats.
"One more question," I yelled down to Clara, "how am I going to drive the plane when it's invisible?"
"It is visible to your eyes only," she answered, "good luck!"
"Thanks," I mumbled, "I'm going to need it."
