Vanessa POV:

When I got on to my (and Marissa's) street, I walked up the front steps to my house. Marissa had gone to the mall, obviously. As soon as I walked in, my mom stopped what she was cooking to look up and come towards me, my dad walked down the stairs.

"There's my pride and joy!" My dad said, giving me a hug.

"Let her breath Charles!" My mom said, walking over. My dad let go and my mom gave me a hug. "How was school?" She asked, but before I could answer, my younger sister, Isla (BTW, the "S" in Isla is silent) walked into the room (we have an open concert living room, dining room, and kitchen) She plopped herself on the couch, and started watching one of her fake reality shows.

"Hi Isla." I said

"Hi loser." She replied. Isla was very sassy for a 10-year-old if you ask me. Or anybody. Even if you ask her, she'll tell you that she's sassy. But she is pretty smart. And strong. Even stronger than my younger brother Milo (very weak if you ask, well, anybody) who's 14. Which is four years older. I'm 16 and clearly smartest, I'm valedictorian. Anyways, back to the story.

"Isla, don't talk to your sister that way!" My mom scolded, "Go to your room and do your homework!"

"Whatever you say, Jessica." Isla replied, getting up to leave.

"You call me mom!" My mother said and went back to cooking. Then Milo walked into the room.

"For the record I'm their favorite." Milo said, trying to act cool.

"I can assure you that I am." I replied

"Mom, Dad! Vanessa thinks she's your favorite!" Milo tattled. If there is one thing he's good at, it's tattling.

My dad was the one that spoke up, "Just because she's a strait A student, black belt in Karate, doesn't mean-" my dad stopped and Milo crossed his arms, then stomped his way upstairs. My dad then left to go watch some sports thing upstairs. Perfect. Now I can tell mom about the party, and dad won't be here to say no!

"Well, I have a party at 6:30 this Friday, at River's."

"Got it sweetheart." My mom said, then she spoke up again. "Wait, River, that cute football player!" My mom said with a goofy smile. She came out of the kitchen. "I'm guessing you don't want me to tell your father?"

"Yup." I nodded

"Your secret is safe with me." My mom said

"You can tell him once I'm at the party." I said, then I went upstairs to call Marissa, and tell her about not letting my dad know.

Hey Guys!

I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Last night I finished rewatching K.C. Undercover which is why, it might seem a bit familiar with the characters and setting. Don't forget to vote and comment!
