Vanessa POV:

When I stepped out of the Taxi, I waited for Marissa to come out. As son as she saw me she started tearing up. Again.

"I'm sorry. You just look so beautiful!" She told me

"You too." I replied "Now stop crying, you're gonna mess up your makeup!"

When we walked in, Marissa immediately left to go find a cute boy to talk to. Great. Now I have to look for River on my own. I thought to myself. I walked around for a few minutes, until I found a tall, handsome, boy.

I walked up to River, and he turned around to face me.

"Hey, Vanessa, right?" River asked. He knew my name, *Squeal*!

"Ya," I said, feeling my face turn red. I opened my mouth to tell about my feelings for him, when Jolie walked up to us. Ugh. Jolie. The most popular, mean, and annoying girl at school.

"Hi babe!" Jolie said, planting a kiss on River's lips. My heart fell in two. River was so sweet, and smart and nice, and Jolie was his girlfriend. "Do you want to go dance?" Jolie asked him

"Sure, in just a minute." River said "I'll meet you over there." He told Jolie, pointing to the chocolate fountain. "You were saying?" The said, turning to me.

"Um, ya. I just wanted to say that," I had to make something up "that this is an amazing party!" I said, plastering a realistic looking, but actually face smile. I walked over to one of the tables and sat down, eating a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream.

"Hey gurl! How'd it go?" Marissa asked me

"Horrible. He's dating Jolie." I replied

"Jolie? He's dating elephant poop bag Jolie?" Marissa said "You poor thing. My parents are on a trip, so we can have a sleepover at my house and eat ice cream and binge watch some thing." Marissa said, leading me to the door.

"I'll call a Taxi." I said, picking up my phone.
