Andy's pov
I was so mad at my dad. I honestly couldn't believe some of the things he said to me, especially seeing as we were at the station. I really hope the rest of the team didn't hear too much of our argument. Also, I was mad at myself. I hadn't meant to say that I loved Robert. Whilst it is true, that wasn't how I wanted to say it for the first time.
"Sullivan, Herrera, a word in the office please," Ripley said, bringing me out of my thoughts. I glanced over at Robert nervously, and he gave me a comforting look. I hope that meant he wasn't mad at me. We followed Ripley to Robert's office in silence, closing the door behind us. "One of you better tell me what the hell just happened out there!" Ripley shouted and I took a deep breath.
"I'm sorry about my father sir. He came in and said he wanted to talk to me, and we, um, talked, but he refused to leave," I stuttered.
"That much was clear," Ripley snapped before sighing. "Look I couldn't help but overhear some of the argument, it was very loud. And if there is something going on between you two I should report it."
"Should?" Robert repeated, questioning the chiefs choice of words.
"Yes, should. It's against the rules for any firefighters of different ranks to date, or whatever. But Sully, I let you down once, and I don't want to do that again. If you two are happy together, then I won't report you. But you better make sure nobody else finds out about the two of you. Besides Hughes and Bishop, they already know," Ripley explained.
"How do they know?" I asked, confused.
"Well, they were kind of eavesdropping outside the beanery," he told me and I rolled my eyes. That was just the sort of thing that Maya and Vic would do. "Well, I've got to be going, I'll leave you guys to it," the chief said, and we both said goodbye to him before closing the door and the blinds.
As soon as we were sure nobody would be able to see us, I threw my arms around Robert's waist and he held me close. We stood like that for a few minutes until I stood up reluctantly.
"Well I guess I should get on with some chores or something before Maya and Vic start to wonder why I've been in here so long," I said, and Robert nodded. I was about to leave when he spoke up.
"Are you forgetting something?" He asked, and I turned around, confused. It only took me a few moments to catch on to what he meant, and I quickly leant over and kissed him.
"That's better, now you may leave Lieutenant," he teased me and I grinned before walking out and getting back on with my chores.
"Sooo you and Sullivan huh?" Maya asked and I realised that her and Vic were stood behind me.
"Why do I feel like you're trying to corner me so that I'm forced to answer you?" I asked.
"Oh, because that's exactly what we're doing," Vic told me and I laughed. "So go on, we need the story behind that one."
"And what makes you think I'm going to tell you," I said, even though I knew that they'd get it out of me eventually. Rather than answering, they both just glared at me. "Okay, okay! I'll tell you!"
"Yess," Maya said, holding her hand out to Vic for a celebratory high five.
"Well as soon as he got here, I felt something towards him, but I had no clue what it was. Then he started acting really closed-off and not eating meals with us and not talking to anyone except about work, which was really confusing because of how nice he was when he first got here. After Robert pulled me out of that apartment a few days ago, I couldn't take it anymore, so I went to talk to him, and I told him how I felt. Even though at the time, I didn't know what it was I felt," I started to explain.
"What did he say?" Vic asked.
"That he felt it to. And then he kissed me and I spent the night with him in the captains bunk," I told them, leaving out the details.
"I knew it!" Maya exclaimed.
"So what about Captain Herrera? How did he find out?" Vic asked, and I sighed.
"Well the next morning I went for a shower in the shower that's in the captains bunk, and when I was about to get out I realised I didn't have a towel. So I shouted to Robert asking him to get me one. But I didn't realise that my dad was in his office getting some paperwork he left there, and he heard me," I said, and both of them widened their eyes in shock.
"Nooo," Maya said in disbelief.
"That must've been awkward," Vic said and I nodded.
"Oh and you've probably guessed by now, but I was at Robert's house last night, not my dads," I laughed. "You can't tell anyone else," I said, serious all of a sudden.
"We won't," Maya said.
"Promise?" I asked.
"Promise," Vic confirmed, nodding her head.
"Thank you guys," I said, kind of glad that my best friends knew about me and Robert.
"So, do you want to get drinks with us after shift, or are you busy?" Vic asked, wiggling her eyebrows at me as she said the last part.
"Sure, but I won't stay long," I said.A/n: So I know this isn't a very good chapter, but I just thought I'd put it out seeing as it's been so long since I've updated. Also I've not proof read it so sorry if there's some mistakes.
