As I was about to knock on the door. It flew open and I was tackled to the ground.
"Oof get off me you fat arse. You're gonna crush my bones!" I shouted at my older brother who was now sitting on me.
"Hey!! I'm not that heavy you little shit!" He started messing my hair up. Wow now starting to remember why I don't visit so much. I finally managed to get him off of me and I stood up, brushing the dust off my clothes.
"Must you act like your niece?" I questioned.
"Yes! She's a big influence on me. I miss her when's she coming out? Has she gotten any bigger? Is she still cheeky like me? Bet she is! Is she exc-" I cut him off mid sentence.
"Can I at least get sat down first before you start bombarding me with questions that aren't even about me by the way. I shoved past him and went to sit down on the couch.
"Eeesh I was just curious how my little niece was doing. Is that a crime?"
"No but not making me a cuppa may lead to me committing a crime." He laughed at me and put the kettle on.
I looked around his apartment, it was so nice. Very modern but still traditional. I love it. I hope we can find one just as nice as Mikey's. See, my brother is a doctor so he makes good money. He moved back to South Korea when he was 15 to live with our auntie and uncle to study medicine here. His apartment is beautiful, truly. I'm so envious of him sometimes. He really is such a great role model for Tali and I'm glad she has him and I'm glad I have him too. He keeps me right when I have breakdowns and makes me face reality which I need sometimes.
"So, anyone new in the dating life?" He asks me as he puts my cup of coffee down in front of me. I sigh and groan. This is gonna be a long night.

Me and Mikey spent the whole night catching up but jet lag finally got the best of me and I had to go to bed. He had sorted out his spare room for me and Talia in case I don't find an apartment by the time she comes out. I've been saving for a while now so I think I'll find one. I just have to find the perfect one.
I unlocked my phone to text Tali goodnight when I realised I had a new message I didn't see.
Namjoon: Annyeong!!
Wait? Namjoon? From the plane? When did I get his number???? I stared at rage screen confused and text him back.
Me: namjoon? How did you get my number?
Namjoon: wow! Funny story really...
Me: I'm waiting...
Namjoon: well... when you were asleep I put my number in your phone and got your number in mine. I'm sorry... I just thought you'd need a friend :)
I smiled and as I went to reply I drifted into dreamland. I'm glad I made a friend.

I woke up the next morning, ready to conquer the day. I had four job interviews and I was ready for them all. I was good at what I did. I'm a good hairdresser. Hell, I'd even say I was a great hairdresser. I've been a hairdresser since I was 16, I left school to do it at college and my parents weren't very happy but they understood I hated school.
I took a shower and got dressed. I put on my interview clothes and grabbed my phone off my dresser. I FaceTimed tali.
"Hey peach!" I smiled as she answered.
"Mam!! I miss you! How's uncle mikey? Does he miss me?!" She asked excitingly. Wow these two honestly. They love each other more than me.
"He misses you lots bub. He's currently at work though so I'll get him to FaceTime you when he's back okay? I have to go but I hope you're behaving for grandma and grandad. Tell them I'll ring later after my interviews. Wish me luck peach!" I blew a kiss at her.
"Good luck mam! I love you!"
"I love you too peach! Talk later." I smiled and hung up. Ah I miss her.
I made my coffee and set out to start my day off on the right food. I grabbed an umberella as I heard it was gonna rain and wet hair is not a look I'm hoping to have today.
I walked out the door and locked it behind me. Time to show them what I've got.
Thankfully my brother had a car I could borrow for the day so I didn't have to take the bus or a taxi. He's alright sometimes. I guess.
I laughed to myself and drove off to my first interview.

Three interviews later and I'm so tired. They seem to be going well but all the people were very hard faced so I had no idea if they liked me or not. I did meet a few other people who were there for interviews but one girl stood out to me the most. Her name was Park Hana. She's so lovely, we clicked straight away. I got her number and we made sure to make plans to get coffee. Thankfully for me, she spoke amazing English so I didn't have to test our my rusty Korean skills. I really need to practice more if I'm gonna live here.
So here I am now, at my last interview of the day. Bouncing my leg because I'm impatient and just want my bed. The last place was very fancy, almost too fancy for me to work at. Their floors were so shiny I could see myself in them and the walls were a beautiful silver colour. There were flowers everywhere which I appreciated because I love flowers.
"Layla Anderson. We're ready for you." The lady smiled at me and I walked into the last interview of the day.
"Hello." I greeted them, smiled and sat down.
"I'm going to cut straight to the chase here Mrs Anderson. We're looking for someone amazing. Someone different to everyone else. Someone who is willing to go the extra mile for the company and their career. Is that you Mrs Anderson?" He looked at me dead in the eyes. I squirmed under his gaze and fidgeted with my sleeves.
"I do believe I am the woman you're looking for sir. I wouldn't be here if I didn't think so. I'm confident in what I do and I hope you see that." I replied.
"Okay let's test you out then. Grab an apron and come with me." Wait. What? He wants me to do some work? Right now? Wide eyed, I grabbed an apron and did as I was told. I took my jacket off, put it on the back of my chair and put the apron on.
"Mrs Anderson, this is Hyo. She's an extremely important client and she wants a balayage and a cut. Think you can do that?" He asked me, raising his eyebrow. A balayage? We learnt those in college. I nodded and set to work.
I was there for three hours doing her hair. Making sure it was perfect and what she was asking for. I always enjoy dying hair, it's just therapeutic to me for some reason. I took a step back, admiring the work I'd just done.
Mr Kim walks up to us and studies Hyo's hair. He looked at me. I was so nervous I could feel the sweat on my head. He whispered something to the lady next to him and walked off.
"Thank you for coming Mrs Anderson." She said to me and my face fell. I took off the apron and went to get my bag and jacket. I thanked them all before leaving. I got into my car and sat there for 10 minutes. Staring into space.
Time to go home I guess.
