Third p.o.v
"Memories do not return~." Sings Ukai as he swipes the aisle with a feather duster, a sigaret chewed on is in the corner of his mouth. He is currently busy with cleaning the store, his mother is standing behind the counter in case a customer comes in. Still, the feeling of someone's eyes piercing his back the last few minutes makes his skin crawl a little, so he turns his head slightly to the left. More curious than worried.
"Amidst the dancing lights of Hayase-" A shriek escapes his mouth as a pair of glasses stare straight at him, glinting in the sunlight, causing him to drop his sigaret. He sprints outside, facing the same man who visited his place for the last few days, maybe even weeks. His voice comes close to screeching.
"Wh-What are you doing?!" He watches the man hold up his hands to come off non-threatening. At least he has the audacity to look guilty.
"I'm sorry. I was checking to see if you had any customers." His voice sounds apologetic, and Ukai's shoulders drop in annoyance as he connects the dots at seeing the formal suit of the other. His hands are curled into fists.
"You're here about the coaching thing again, aren't you?"
"Yes."
Ukai glances away from him, planting his hand in his side as instead of continuing talking about the coaching, he switches to another topic,
"I still like to play. I even have a local team," he tilts his chin up in defiance. "But I don't want to coach. It's stuffy."
"I see...." Mutters Takeda thoughtfully.
He brings his gaze back towards Takeda, his eyebrows scrunched up as he continues, "And I don't want to go to that gymnasium, either." A gasp escapes Takeda, whose hand shoots up to his mouth.
"D-Do you have bad memories or something?" He asks, expecting the worst, only to be left in confusion as Ukai turns his body slightly to look him in the eyes, and declares with a vast voice.
"The very opposite. The place is filled with fond memories of my youth." Takeda's hands drop to his side as he stares at Ukai for a second, trying to comprehend his sentence.
"Then...Why?" His expression is puzzled as he asks that question hesitantly, not grasping what it is about then.
"That gym and club room may still be the same, but I can never go back." Ukai's mind flashes back to the gym where he spend most of time back then. "It was a limited time with it's own distinctive feel. The atmosphere belongs to that place and time alone." He answers with a finality, seemingly lost in his thoughts.
A knowing grin makes it's way onto Takeda's lips, and he leans a bit more on his right leg as he places his index finger and thumb on his chin, a hum escaping his lips.
"So it's nostalgia. How nice." A reddish hue immediately covers Ukai's cheeks and he spins around to bark out a 'shut up' at Takeda.
He coughs to cover his embarrassment, lifting his chin a little, his voice is calm as he declares, "That's why I don't want to go back." Sobering up quickly at his words, Takeda's gaze is pointed as he utters the next words.
"Even if Nekoma High School were coming?" Ukai's mouth drops at the mention of Nekoma High School, his eyes wide open. Why now? How? When?
"Wha-?"
"We're having a practice match at the end of Golden Week. The first match in five years." Takeda continues merciless, interrupting Ukai's train of thoughts and question.
"B-But wh-why now?" The latter stammers.
"Their coach, Nekomata, who was close friends with Coach Ukai, just came out of retirement. When I heard that, I requested a practice match." Takeda clenches his hands, leaning a little forward as his eyes have a determined glance.
"When you where there, Ukai-kun, wasn't that when the Nekoma rivalry was at its peak?"
"Yeah..."
"And I hear their coach now was Nekoma's setter seven or eight years ago." He pauses, giving Ukai a few seconds to gather his thoughts, who in return, almost gulps audible as a sweat drop slides down his temple.

"This year is our last chance, Ukai." Manabu extends his hand, a grin on his face. "Promise to definitely, definitely see us at the nationals." It takes a second for Ukai to return it as he grasps the hand firmly.
"Yeah. I promise."

"That was when you were playing, too. Maybe you know him?" Takeda's question shakes him form his last thought, and a lightbulb goes off into his head as he silently watches the other, who is clearly waiting for a response.
"Oi..." Ukai mumbles, and Takeda wavers a little the sound of his voice. All of the sudden the former grabs the hem of Takeda's suit, tugging him close as he himself also brings his head closer to him. "You trying to agitate me, huh?!"
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" He whimpers, squeezing his eyes shut as he cringes.
"Are you kidding? You think I'll fall for such obvious ploy? What time does practice start?" As Ukai fires question after question at him, it takes Takeda a second to comprehend the last sentence.
"I'm sorry, I'm so-Huh?" He opens his eyes, looking surprised as he stares after Ukai. His suit is crumpled up from when Ukai shaking him and it almost seems like his glasses will fall of if he doesn't correct it soon. He gapes, not really knowing what to do as the other starts walking away while taking of his apron.
"Um..."
"Nekoma's coming. I can't let them see my successors in a pitiful state. I'm gearing up. Go there and wait." Ukai states, leaving no room for arguments. Not like Takeda will object or something as he has been trying to get Ukai to coach the team what feels like forever. He beams in joy.
"Y-Yes!"
"Mom! Mind the store for me." With a huge grin, Takeda turns away from Ukai and clenches his fists tightly.
"All right!" He pumps his hands into the air.
"Hello, Tatsu-san?" Takeda's eyes widen slightly in confusion as he hears Ukai greeting a person on the phone. Huh?

Somewhere else

Zayd p.o.v
I gaze down at my thousands notebook, nibbling on my under lip as I write down some more notes for Yumi to improve. School has just ended, so I'm making my way over to the gym, scribbling furiously while mumbling a few ideas. She's already ridiculously tall, and as she wants to be an Ace- So engrossed with my thoughts I almost have a heart attack as my phone in my bag pings loudly. If it's Yumi again about copying my homework...
With a soft sigh I put my notebook and pen away, grabbing my phone and unlock it quickly. Expecting to see Yumi's name, my phone nearly drops from my hands as I see 'Rayden' popping up. Rayden...almost never sends a text, willingly. With a dreadful felling settling into my stomach, I cautiously open the text.

From Rayden, send at 3:17 pm
Good luck with Nekoma.

My eyes widen slightly in surprise. I expected him to find out, but not this fast. Before I can write a reply, three circles pop up, and disappear just as quick, leaving another message. My stomach drops as I read the text.

From Rayden, send at 3:18 pm
We shall see how long clipped ravens can keep up.

Not wanting to give a reply anymore, I hastily shove my phone back into my bag. Intending to ignore the text I push the memory to the back of my head, and straighten my back before quicken up my pace again.
