The running water of the faucet is the only thing Kindaichi is focused on as he washes his hands. That is, until the peaceful moment is interrupted by no one other than Kageyama. "Kindachi." He simply greets him.
He turns off the faucet and then turns to Kageyama, his head goes back to a conversation he once held with the coach of Kitagawa Daiichi.
"All of us have had enough of him. Sure he's got individual power, but he's clearly impeding the team." The coach only sighs in response, a weary expression on his face. "To be frank, we're better off without him."
The sound of the faucet dripping is heard in the background. Kageyama looks like he is completing whether he has to say something firstly or not. Making up his mind, he opens his mouth, but is cut off by Kindaichi.
"Don't apologize!" He gives him a taken aback look as the latter grits his teeth, "Because I won't apologize, either."
"Yeah."
"You're still an oppressive king, as far as I'm concerned. You're irritating, and there's no one I want to crush more than you." Kageyama's eyes narrow so slightly, but he remains impassive. "Yeah."
"So don't apologize."
"Yeah."
"I'm not reconciling with you. We weren't friends in the first place."
"Yeah."
"And the next time, we'll win for sure!" Kindaichi finishes, giving him a defiant expression if the other dares to say something otherwise. "The next time-" Kageyama starts, only to be stopped by Hinata singing, "Toilet, toilet, toilet. Who am I? The guy who'll become the ace."
They both sweat drop as Hinata finally sees them standing there and hides behind the wall, gulping as he notices the tension between them. Oh, crap. This is that one thing...There's bad blood between those two. This vibe tells me to stay back.
"Kindaichi." Starts Kageyama after he turned back to Kindaichi. "The next time we battle, we will win again." He looks surprised as Kageyama turns around again and starts walking towards Hinata.
The door behind him opens, revealing Kunimi, who closes the door behind him. "What were you guys talking about?" Kindaichi stays quiet for a little longer and then finally answer, "He...said 'we'."

"Did you cry?"

"He always used to say 'I' like he was the only one playing."

"Of course I didn't cry, idiot! Now go use the toilet."

He watches as Kageyama snaps irritated towards Hinata and points to the toilets.

"You can't fool me, Kageyama-kun."

"Damn..." He mutters as Kumini stops next to him, an unreadable expression on his face. "I kind of feel defeated." The next moment he is hit on his shoulder. "Wh-What was that for?!"

Zayd p.o.v
After we bid our thanks, our team walks to the bus, with me walking next to Shimizu-senpai. While Takeda-sensei complimented them, there are a few things we would need to do if we don't want to be crushed in a complete match. Mainly receiving by the first-years, but also stamina and perfecting our moves. I look up at Sawamura's voice.
"Takeda-sensei complimented us, but frankly, if we were facing Seijoh and Oikawa in an all-out match, we'd be lacking." I listen to his words, nodding as I agree. We're also missing an Ace and a Libero, I wonder if they have one...?
"Spoken like a true captain." A familiar voice chuckles, making us stop in our tracks. A certain volleyball team captain is leaning against the school gate He has probably been waiting for us to walk past. Oikawa smirks as he knows he has gotten our attention. "You know your stuff."
It immediately pisses Tanaka-senpai off along with Hinata-san - which completely didn't work- and even Yamaguchi-san.
"The Great King makes his entrance!" Screams Hinata, hiding behind Tanaka-senpai's back as he starts walking towards Oikawa-san, wearing the well-known menacing expression.
"You got a problem, dude?"
"What do you want?"
"Wanna fight, huh?"
I hide my curling lips behind my hand as Hinata echoes Tanaka-senpai's words. He's acting though while he's intimidated by people who are stronger than him...It is quite hilarious how his expressions switch so quickly. Even though he's trying to be scary, he's clinging to Tanaka. Oikawa-san waves his hand, smiling slight. "Don't be so hostile."
And places his hand on his hip before averting his attention towards Hinata-san. "You, little one." Hinata pipes up at that, completely ignoring 'little one'. "Huh?"
"Your last one-touch and broad attack was amazing." His compliment makes Hinata flustered, who chuckles nervously while rubbing the back of his head. "Huh? Oh..." His 180 degree turn is so all of the sudden I almost take a step back.
"Let's give it all we got the next time right from the start." That went quickly from zero to hundred. "You didn't get to see our set-up. Oh, yes, and we'll be improving our serves, too." Both Hinata and Tsukishima tense up at being reminded they...are not that great in receiving. The corner of my mouth twitches as I can't help but be annoyed by him. Just like my brother. Always pushing the right buttons.
"It's true, your offense is amazing, but your receives aren't polished." He pushes himself off of the wall. "You'll reach your limit very quickly. I'm not the only one who hits powerful serves. The Inter-High preliminaries are coming up soon. Don't get eliminated, okay? Because I want to pulverize my dear underclassman, setter-on-setter, in an official match." He declares cheerfully. From the corner of my eye I see Hinata grabbing Tsukishima-san's sleeve. "The receivers will train."
"Hey, let go." Complains Tsukishima, just in time as Oikawa turns to them, a cold look in his eyes. "Receivers don't improve overnight." He states simply, turning to Sawamura-senpai with a knowing look in his eyes. "Ask the captain. He should know." He waves his hand as he starts walking away from us. "There's not much time left 'til the tournament. I look forwards seeing you there." Our eyes meet as he passes me -
"Like you said, there's not much time left until the tournament." He pauses at my words and glances at me. Is it just me or did his eyes just light up or something?
"Oh, you must be one of the new first-years! It's nice to finally meet you." My eyebrow twitches at his words and I narrow my gaze at him, clenching my book tighter against my chest. A big grin stretches his lips as he takes notice of it, a chuckle escapes him.
"Now, now, no need to get all angry and-" I interject him, albeit calmly.
"You don't need to finish that sentence, since our conversation will be a short one." I look him dead in the eyes, a sudden rush of courage goes through me. "It's a shame your leg hurts, you should focus on getting better, instead of mocking people for your own pleasure." Oikawa blinks owlishly, and let's out another chuckle.
"My leg? You probably meant my ankle." I come closer to him, so close we're almost touching head-to-chest.
"Maybe, but you've been putting strain on your knee, as well, am I correct?" I whisper softly he has to bend a little to hear me. His eyes widen a tad and his lips part slightly, but I beat him to it. "Be careful with it, or maybe you will end up with not playing, once again." Oikawa steps backwards.
"My, my, you would think this was almost a threat." Following his example, I step back to look him in the eyes and give him a wide, uncaring grin.
"Of course not, it's some advise." Instead of backing down, like I expected him to do, a wide smirk curls his lips up.
"Wow, you've some bite to you, after all! How interesting." A bad feeling falls over me at the way he said 'interesting'. "What's your number-"
"I'm just a manager." He blinks again, surprised, but smiles.
"I see. Well, that makes me wonder, if we crush your team, could I claim you as our new manager?" His teasing tone makes the team of Karasuno tense up. The temperature drops as they glare at Oikawa from behind Andou. If eyes could shoot lasers, Oikawa would be six feet under when he pats Andou's shoulder.
"Have fun with your team while it lasts, manager-kun."
Kageyama hesitatingly speaks up as they watch Oikawa retreating back into the gym, Hinata and Tanaka still glaring at him.
"Don't let him get to you. He likes to razz people like that." I offer him a slight smile.
"Of course not." Kageyama-san coughs into his hand, turning away from me but not before I catch a blush coating his cheeks.
"It's true. We don't have much time before the Inter-High preliminaries, but he should be coming back soon." Adds Sawamura-senpai as if nothing happened in the past few minutes. The strained smile, however, shows he's a bit pissed off. Probably a lot.
"Who's coming back soon?" Seeing Tanaka-senpai's shit-eating grin as Sawamura-senpai answers, I feel even more curious about the person than before. "The Guardian Deity of Karasuno." Guardian Deity....huh?

Third p.o.v
"Kageyama has become even more amazing." Comments Iwaizumi as Oikawa continue to throw the volleyball up and down. "Yeah. That genius was spinning his wheels, but finally found his best destination. No commoner could hold a candle to him now."
The other turns to him, his eyebrows scrunched a little in confusion. "Yeah? You're no match for him either, then?"
Oikawa catches the ball before answering. "When it comes to the toss. There's probably no one in the prefecture who could match Tobio's toss." And starts spinning the ball on his right index finger, not noticing Iwaizumi walking away from him as he continues talking. "But he's not better than me at serving, blocking, or spiking."
And has promptly thrown a ball against his head. "Ouch!"
"Damn it, Oikawa! Don't say his toss is better than yours! You're a setter, aren't you?"
"But I'm only being honest." He whines before turning serious. "That's why we have to break their receivers. Because no matter how amazing his tosses are, if the ball doesn't get to the setter, it's all for nothing." He smirks.
"If we can play against Karasuno in an official game, we can make a mess out of their receivers, and not give them a chance at a toss. Just having one good player doesn't mean you'll win. How I want to say 'Don't mind' to them. How I want to say it." The shiny aura around him and the blush on his cheeks don't match with his words. And if we win, we get a cute manager out of it.
His eyes almost resemble stars as he turns his head to look at Iwaizumi, who doesn't answer. "What? Don't geniuses piss you off?" And then gets a panicked look in his eyes as Iwaizumi picks up a volleyball. "Guys that girls squeal over piss me off even more." He doesn't dodge the ball in time, and a loud thud is heard through the gym.
"Ouch!" He recovers remarkably fast. "You shouldn't be jealous, Iwa-chan. It's embarrassing." He singsongs, only to get another ball thrown against his head.

"Ow...Ow, Iwa-chan!"

"Hey, quit fooling around. Coach's get mad." Call Hanamaki out as he watches Iwaizumi throwing more balls towards Oikawa while Matsukawa and Watari are busying themselves with the net.
