Sorry for the late update, school is killing me and it's only been a week.
I have linked a song that I think goes very well with the chapter.
Hope you enjoy the chapter, it's a sad one :(
PSA this is a flashback 💞💞

I climbed the last step leading to the roof. Closing the door behind me, I walked when I noticed a familiar silhouette was already sitting in my favorite spot. "Hey, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be enjoying the party?"
"Yeah, I should be," her twinkling eyes turn to glance at me. "But I needed a breather. What are you doing up here?"
I shrugged. "I guess, parties aren't my scene either."
I walked over and sat down beside her.
"It's so peaceful here, right?"
"Hmm, true."
She turned to me, moonlight highlighting her best features." Can I ask you something? And you have to answer me honestly."
I chuckled, "Have I ever lied to you?"
She gasped dramatically and playfully hit my arm. "Yes, you have! Just today you told me that we were going to have a study session and I came home to find a party!"
I turn to her, staring into her blue eyes. "And was that a bad thing?"
She turns away, her cheeks coloring a little, "No, but we are getting off-topic. Tell me you will answer honestly."
"Ok, I will. Shoot."
"If I told you I had feelings for you, what would you say?" she asks, with a hopeful tone lacing her voice. I froze. Out of all things she could have said, I did not expect this.
"Dmitry?"
I was too surprised to answer. The girl who had been my childhood best friend, the girl who took care of me when my parents injured me, the girl who gave me a reason to live was telling me that she had feelings for me. I turned to her. "Since when?"
She blinked twice before looking at the sky, "Probably since the moment we met." She looks down at her fingers before muttering, "I guess I didn't notice."
She turned to me, "You still haven't answered. What would you say?"
I leaned towards her before whispering, "I would say 'Can I take you out on a date?'"
Shock registered on her face before I spoke again, "Can I take you out, Anna?"
She blinked again before her face broke into a happy smile as she breathed out, "Yes."
...
"So what are we baking?" she said, as she tied the apron.
"A chocolate cake," I said, before pecking her cheek and getting all the ingredients ready.
"Ooooo, my favorite."
"I know, sweetheart" I winked.
Halfway through the baking process, with slow classical music playing in the background, she loops her arms around my neck and starts dancing to the song.
"Sweetheart, at this rate, this cake will never get made," I said with a laugh.
"So will you mind if I do this?" She leans towards me, her lips inching closer to mine. I start closing my eyes as our breaths mingle but before I can kiss her she removes her arm from my neck and all I see is a flash of white before she rubs whipped cream all over my face with both her hands.
I open my eyes to see her grinning like a fool before she takes off.
"Oh no, you don't get away like this. COME BACK HERE!" I exclaimed before chasing her down.
...
I removed her blindfold. She gasped as she took the sight in.
"This is amazing, D. Wow," she gasped while looking around.
"Anything for you, love."
"What?" she gasped as she turned to me.
"I love you, sweetheart. More than anything. "
Tears brimmed in her eyes, as she quietly took everything in. Then she finally spoke, "I love you too, D."
A smile took over my face before I sealed her lips with mine.
...
I clutched my bag tighter. It was normal that I was stared at but something felt off today.
I walked to my locker where there was no sign of Anna being there. Two of her friends were talking by their lockers, and as I went past them they stared at me before going back to whatever they were talking about. I usually don't pay attention but today, one sentence made me halt in my steps.
"She never loved him. Look at him, what a loser."
I turned back around and went over to them. "What the fuck did you just say?"
The blonde friend took a step back while the other redhead laughed mockingly. "Why? Is the reality too harsh for you to accept, Dumb-mtry?"
"Tell me what you just said."
She clicks her tongue and replies, "Ok, I will tell you." By this time, a small crowd was standing around us. "I said, she never loved you, Dumb-mtry. It was all a dare."
My world spun a little. No, no. Whatever they are saying isn't true. They are just saying that out of anger or jealousy. Suddenly I felt my arm being tugged. I turned around and saw Anna. I gazed into her eyes, to confirm that whatever my ears had just heard was a lie. However, something else seemed to be the case. I tugged my arm out of her grip and asked, "Was it all a dare?"
"What, baby?" she said, innocently.
"For fuck's sake, tell me if it was a dare or not!?" I yelled, feeling my heart slowly starting to break.
"I don't have any idea what you are talking about."
"Oh, come on Anna, what's the use of keeping it from him now? We all know that you were going to dump him today."
She turned to her friend then to me. She closed her eyes, but when she opens them back, every ounce of love and sincerity is gone. She turns to me and then says the most terrifying words I have ever heard.
"Yes, it was all a dare. I never loved you. Sorry."
She just shrugs and walks away while I just stare at her, unable to do anything.
