8. He's Home

"Oh girls, I'm starting to wonder if I will ever see my little boy again." Carrie said in tears. "Don't say that Carrie, you must have faith and hope. He'll be found." Julie said while hugging her. The men had stayed inside for the day since all the work was done on the field. No one was feeling up to working anyways. 

"Stop crying Carrie, we will see him again." Tommy said getting agitated. "I'm sorry Tommy." She said fearful that he might hit her just for crying over her son missing. Before anymore could be said Gabe shut everyone up. "Shh you hear that?" 

Carrie's ears picked up the sound she had been dying to here. "Mom! Dad! I'm home, I'm home!" Carrie got up to run to the door. "Carrie wait!" Tommy called. "He's my son he's back!" She said trying to open the door. Gabe pulled out his key to open the door. Everyone ran outside even the women ran out. "Mom dad!" There before their eyes was Buddy with Katty. "Buddy! Oh Buddy!" Carrie ran to her son's side hugging and kissing him. "Don't ever run away like that again you scared us all half to death." Tommy as well as the other men came running to him. "Oh Buddy we missed you so much." 

"Who is this?" Tommy asked. "Dad this is Katty." Buddy undid he blindfold for her to see them all. "She saved me, she helped me get home." Buddy said smiling. He pushed her forward to the family. "Um, yes I did. I had found him and I wanted to keep him safe." She said with shaking hands. 
"Hmmm, well, well, isn't that interesting?" Taylor said while walking around her checking her out. "Buddy, who is she really?" Taylor said laughing. "I know who she is." Charles said stepping forward. "You're that girl, I remember you. You are the girl I helped aren't you?" He asked holding her face. "I am, I remember you as well. Charles right?" She asked.

"Yes I am dear, well, you saved my grandson. Did any harm come to him?" He asked. "No sir, I promise. I kept him safe. He also kept me safe as well. I've never met a boy as smart and strong as he is." She said smiling. "What do we do with her?" Gabriel asked. "Shut up Gabe, let's bring her in. You must be starving my dear. Come on in." The family brought Katty inside and had her sit at the table feeding her and Buddy big plates of food. Buddy quickly ate his with three more cuts of meat. 

Katty ate what she could before getting up and running to the bathroom to puke again. "What's wrong with her?" Tommy asked. "Oh, she's pregnant." "What?" Everyone asked together. "Oh, I forgot to mention that." Buddy said still eating. "she's too young to be a mother Buddy." Charles said loudly. "She was hurt Grandpa, she said some boy in her class had hurt her and so she said he's in prison now but he knows of her having his child and wants nothing to do with that child." 

Buddy sat there in silence when Katty came back in to the dining room. "Something you want to tell us dear Katty?" Charles said smirking. "I am pregnant but I can explain." She said trying not to cry. "Who is the father?" Charles asked. "Just a boy in my class, he had, he had raped me and I told him no over and over. He wanted to go out with me but I had rejected him because well I was hoping to meet my husband when I turn twenty or something like that but he had other ideas. So one day I was alone in a classroom getting caught up on a project and well, you can guess what happened after that." 

Katty cried while Buddy went over hugging her. "Can we keep her please? She's just a girl out there alone." Buddy said begging. "Where's your mother and father dear?" Gabriel asked. "My mom died and my dad well, I'm not sure, I lost him when I went to the store that day that's when I found Buddy here and I um payed for his toy plan oh wait Buddy do you still have it?" She asked him. "Oh yeah, I do." He pulled it out of Katty's backpack. 

That's when the family pieced it all together. They had eaten her father but how to break it to her? "Um Katty, we may have something to tell you." Charles said thinking of a quick lie to tell her. "What is it?" She asked. 

"Well, you see, Gabriel, Tommy and Jimmy and I we saw your father we were helping him find something he needed and well while you were gone, well, we helped him get what he was looking for and then he went to go find you but we saw this van pull up and take him so we don't know where he is. We are so sorry." Charles lied. The other's nodded not wanting Katty to know the horrible truth. 

"My father wouldn't just go down like that he's a fighter." Katty said not believing them. That had them all remember the way he fought hard against them and screamed. "Please, I have a daughter please don't kill me!" He cried out while they had him on meat hooks. 

"My father had a golden ring and a tattoo of a dove on his left shoulder." She said sobbing. Katty got up to take her dish to the sink she went to go get something to drink but noticed something in a bag meat, but she then noticed it the tattoo of the dove. "Oh my God! No, no, no!" Katty slammed the fridge door falling to the floor crying. "Dad! But." She turned to the whole family. "You're cannibals?" She asked in fear. 

"We are Katty dear, but it's to protect our family and now that you know and you came here with Buddy well, we are afraid that you belong to us now." Gabriel said. "No, no. I can't be here." She begged with tears. "Katty dear, we won't harm you since you are pregnant we won't harm you." Charles went over helping her up to her feet. She looked at Buddy with anger. "You, you promised me that nothing would happen to me, you, you lied to me." She said in tears. Buddy with wide eyes ran over to her hugging her. "No, Katty I promise you that this is your home now and we will always love you. You're father he would have hurt my family. You kept me alive and now I'm doing the same for you in return. This is your home now." 

"You planned this you little boy, you, you tricked me." She said in anger. "I'm sorry Katty please believe me. This is for your own safety. Once I got you here I knew you would never be able to go back to your own farm and house. I had to find a way to get you back here." He said stroking her face. "You're lucky you are pregnant because if you weren't you would have more than likely become our meal and well, at first I was gonna have that happen but then we got close and now I, I love you like a big sister. You are kind, sweet and adoring. You will be admired by this family. You are now the darling of the Wilcox family." He said kissing her cheek. 

Katty just gave up and gave in to Charle's grip on her and she just hugged him. "It's ok Katty." He said. "No, it's not ok, it's not ok." Katty said hitting him in the chest but crying. "Shhh, it's ok." He whispered to her. "She needs rest, let's help her get in the tub to relax." Julie said smiling. the girls took her up into the bathroom to help her wash up. "Buddy, we want you to know that we are proud of you." Tommy said smiling. 

"She's perfect, she's beautiful." Hunter said smiling. "What, Hunter you can't be serious?" Tommy said looking at his nephew. "I am, I think that she needs a man and well, I volunteer." Jimmy saw this and grinned. "That's my boy. But maybe let's let you two just be together too young to marry at your age." "She's sixteen I think Uncle Jimmy." Buddy said while laughing. 

Julie and the rest of the girls came downstairs. Carrie hasn't spoken a word to that girl at all. Tommy was too busy being happy that his son had come home with someone. "I'll talk to her tomorrow for now, I'm glad my son is home and I want to get some rest." Carried said finally stopping her crying. "Ok mom." He said going upstairs to him and his parents room where they were sleeping before. He was so happy to be sleeping in the house he grew up knowing Gabe and their kids as well. Katty was in a spare bedroom sleeping after being sedated by the girls. He smiled knowing that she was family now and she would never leave them.
