This new RWE was very, strange. Schlatt had a strange attachment to him. I mean- it. None of the Level 5's had genders or names. We can only refer to them as "it" I sighed, putting the folder down on my desk. "Georgie!" Nick said, hugging me from behind. "Nick, we're at work." I deadpanned. "Fine. 'Dr. NotFound'" Nick mocked. "Have you seen the new RWE? It's really weird." I said, handing Nick the file. He took the file and his eyes widened. "Uh, George? You should see this." Nick said, handing the folder back to me. I raised my eyebrow as I took the folder and read where he was pointing. "'Experiment has been put into brand new category, Level 7. When approaching this RWE, have another scientist ready a the panel just incase experiment gets violent.'" I read aloud. I read over the short paragraph a few times before getting up abruptly. "Woah, George?" Sapnap said, putting his hand my shoulder. "We are going, right now." I said making my way towards the door.
"Wait, right now?" Sapnap called after me in the hallway. I stopped, turning towards him. "Did I stutter?" I growled. "George. You aren't thinking straight. We barely know anything." Sapnap said, pulling me to the side of the hallway. "Which is exactly why we're going. There is no such thing as a Level 7. That's just a random scientist trying to scare us." I said defensively. There are no Level 7's let alone a Level 6. I folded my arms and looked at him. "George, that random scientist is dead." Nick said. I stared at him for any sign that he was kidding. He wasn't. Nick was dead serious, which is something I don't see a lot. "How did he die?" I asked. "He went in to do his last test and the experiment tore his guts out and bit off h- you know what, he killed the scientist." Nick said. "Fine, but I still want to see it." I said stubbornly. "I never had anything against it, I just didn't want you going in with a mindset that would get you killed." Nick said. I nodded approvingly before turning away from him and looking at the people making a path. A scientist walked briskly through the hallway before I stopped them. "Hey, what's going on?" I asked. his eyes were darting everywhere nervously. "I-it's Schlatt. He's coming here." the man said, still looking around nervously. His raven black hair with a blue streak was messy and the paper on his clipboard was crinkled. He weaved around me and waved. "Sorry, I have to go find Bad!" he called out, turning the corner. Who is Bad? "Dude, get up against the wall." Nick nudged me. I nodded slowly, tearing my gaze away from the wall.
As Schlatt strode down the hallway, the scientist seemed to go further into the wall. There were men surrounding him, and if they saw one person move, they would threaten their lives by pointing a gun at them. Schlatt shifted his gaze to Nick and I and smiled. "George! Nick!" he boomed. I flinched at the use of my first name. He walked up to use and put a hand on each of our shoulders. "Nice to see you. We came here to overlook your interaction with Experiment - 312125. I am especially fond of him." he smiled. Him? I thought we weren't supposed to add human properties to them? "Let's go. Lead the way, Doctors." Schlatt said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I walked down the hallway next to Nick, silently. "So, at least you get to do it with more than one person with you." Nick suggested. I nodded, still staring forwards. Schlatt put his hand on my shoulder and bent down to my ear. "You okay, Doc?" he whispered, sending shivers down my spine. I nodded quickly. "Good. I wouldn't want to send Dr. Armstrong in by himself." Schlatt whispered again, letting go of my shoulder. We approached the experiment's sector and stopped. "This is where he-I mean, it is held." Nick said, gesturing to the long window. I walked up to the window and looked at the black silhouette in the corner. It looked up and a pair of glowing green eyes stared right back at me. "Woah." I muttered. "We will send you in and you take as much time as you need. We be right out here if something goes wrong." Schlatt said. I nodded, grabbing my clipboard and getting into decontamination with Nick. "You ready?" I asked. "I never imagined myself here but yeah, I'm ready."
We walked into the room, looking at the black silhouette in the corner. "We will turn the lights on but be careful, with the lights on he is very, very dangerous." Schlatt said over the intercom. I exhaled as the lights turned on and revealed the experiment in the corner. Nick looked at me as made his way over the experiment and sat down. "Hey buddy, is it okay if we take off your mask?" Nick asked as I sat down next to him. The experiment shook his head and looked up. His dirty blond hair that could easily be mistaken as brown, was dusted over his front of his creepy smiley face mask. "Okay, can we see one of your powers?" I asked, writing down something on my clipboard. The experiment nodded hesitantly as he eyes glowed green. All of a sudden, I was falling down a dark void. I yelled, flailing my arms in hopes of find something to grab onto. "PLEASE HELP!" I cried. I screamed even more as I fell farther and farther down the void. "You will never be good enough." a voice said. Something hit my face making me turn away quickly. I cried out in pain as more and more rocks hit me with each voice that told me how stupid I was. "You're useless. Even your best friend couldn't handle you." the voice said, this time louder. I screamed and tumbled through the air as more rocks hit me. "Goodbye, George." the voice said. That's when I finally hit the ground.
I shot up, looking around. "Nick!" I yelled. I I blinked a few times, realizing that I was in the infirmary. "George! You shouldn't be standing up right now. You were, attacked by an RWE." the nurse said. "Niki, I'm fine. Where is Nick?" I asked, standing up. "Dr. Armstrong is fine. But you aren't." Niki said. "I'M FINE!" I snapped. Niki's eyes widened. "I'm sorry, I just want to find Nick. It's my fault he even got attacked." I said apologetically. "It's okay. I understand. Nick is outside, he's waiting for you." Niki gestured to the door. I thanked her and rushed out the door only to be met by Nick standing there, looking out the window. "Nick!" I cried, hugging him from behind. Nick smiled softly, hugging me back. "Nick, I'm sorry. This is my fault." I rambled. "No Gogy, it isn't your fault." Nick laughed. "Are you okay?" I asked, letting him go. "Um, you should just go see." he said solemnly. I cocked my head to the side as he headed pointed to the experiments who had just attacked me. "What...?" I whispered. The boy was clawing at his neck trying to get the collar off of him. "Nick we have to help him!" I said, looking at him. He shook his head and looked at the experiment with a pained expression.
"I tried already. Schlatt won't let anybody in after the timer is done." he said, pointing to the digital timer reading 16:00. "He has to be shocked for 16 minutes?" I whimpered. Nick nodded and turned away. "He will let us into the office right beside the room though. We'll have a window there so we can check on him." Nick said. "Shh! We can't say 'he'." I said, covering his mouth. "George, I think Schlatt has crossed that line already." Nick said, rolling his eyes and pushing my hand away. "Nick, we aren't Schlatt." I said, letting my hands fall to my side. "Nick we have to go there. at least distract him. " I pleaded. Nick shook his head and walked away. I followed him in silence before her opened a door. "This is the office. I don't know if he can hear us." Nick said, walking in from behind me. "Nick, You have gotta stop saying he. If you say that around Schlatt..." I trailed off. Nick chuckled and put his arm around my shoulder. "I'm not going anywhere!" he said. He looked at the window and his smile immediately faded. The experiment was clutching it's arm so hard, his forearm was white. His nails dug into his arm, blood dripping. "Nick, you have to have something!" I said, looking around frantically. I spotted an unsolved rubix cube on one of the desks. "Here, put this in the food slot!" I said, throwing the cube to him. He caught it and shoved it through the slot.
