The boy immediately stopped holding his arm and looked at the rubix cube in his room. We both pulled a chair up to the glass and stared at teen as he stood up and and picked up the cube. He tilted his head to the side before wincing in pain as he sat back down. He began to play with it before becoming focused and tried solving it. "Nick, do you think he's gonna stop?" I asked, tiredly. Nick's head shot up before falling back down slowly again. He hummed in response before soft snores filled the room.
I woke up to the sound of banging. I opened my eyes, only to be met by big green eyes staring back at me. "AH!" I screamed, falling backwards. "Hm?" Nick said, waking up from his slumber. "It was just staring at me when I woke up!" I exclaimed. "George...?" Nick said, standing up. "Hold on Nick. Anyways, I fell backwards- Ow! why would you do that?" I said, rubbing my side where Nick elbowed me. "George look!" Nick said. I looked into the room and couldn't believe what I saw. A sword. A black sword that had a purple glow that seemed to have green fire surrounding it. "Nick dim the lights I'll get Schlatt and you get Darryl!" I said, running out of the room. I sprinted down the hallway, pushing other scientists out of the way. "Schlatt!" I exclaimed busting into his office. He looked up at me with an angry expression on his face. "Dr. NotFound! What is the meaning of this?" he asked angrily. "The new RWE. I-It has a sword!" I said breathlessly. Schlatt's eyes went wide as he he clicked a button and spoke into the mike. "Code Black, everyone get into you office. Stay out of the hallways until I say it's clear. Repeat, Code Black everyone get into you office. Stay out of the hallways until I say it's clear." he said. He stood up and briskly made his way out the door.
We arrived at the room and Darryl was already there, talking among other scientists. "Alright. this RWE is more powerful than one we have ever encountered. With or without a weapon, it is very dangerous. We will approach with caution." Schlatt boomed, making everyone go quiet. I walked over to Nick and watched as told everyone their positions. "Dr. Armstrong. You must go in there and calm him down." he said finally. Nick looked down to me with scared eyes. "Y-yes sir." he muttered. "George, I'll be fine. Don't argue with him." Nick said, grabbing my shoulder. I shook my quickly, hugging Nick. "I can't lose you too." I whispered into his shirt. Nick laughed softly and pushed me off of him. "It's okay Georgie. I'll come right back out." he said. "Darryl, after Dr. Armstrong gets the weapon away, you will come in and inject the experiment with ASD24." Schlatt said, pointing to Darryl. The scientist nodded his head and went back to his clipboard. "Nick, are you ready?" Schlatt asked. Nick nodded and saluted to me as he entered the room.
~Nick POV~
This is how I die. I thought. I thought about George and how much he would miss me. "We are turning on the lights. Nick, just get he weapon away from him in any way you know how." Schlatt said over the intercom. This is a way to familiar scenario. I thought. The lights flashed on and I saw the experiment in the corner, drawing lines with the sword. The decontamination door closed behind me, gaining his attention. His head snapped towards me. "Hey buddy. I need you to put the sword down." I said, holding my hands in front of me. His mask had red and black streak strewn across it. He immediately dropped the sword and ran over to me with wide arms. I flinched, getting ready to die but, death never came. I opened my eyes slowly and was met by an experiment, hugging me? He squeezed me a bit then let me go. I looked up at him and exhaled shakily. He tilted his head to the side and grabbed my arm softly, leading me to the corner that he was once in. He pointed to the ground excitedly. "Sorry buddy, I don't know what you're saying." I said. He flicked my forehead then pointed to the ground again. I winced but looked to where he was pointing. "Dream" was burned into the ground.
I looked up at him in confusion. He pointed to the ground then pointed to himself. Realization hit me like a bat as understood what he was saying. "Your name is Dream?" I asked. He nodded then gestured to me. "Um, I'm Sapnap." I said, jabbing a finger into my chest. Dream nodded. Something whizzed past me, making me turn around. Darryl was a holding a tranquilizer gun, aiming it at Dream. I turned back to Dream who was poking at the dart in his arm before stumbling to the side, hitting the wall. I stared at him nervously, contemplating whether or not I should help him. It seems like my decision was made for me when someone pulled me backwards into decontamination. The door closed in front of me, leaving me stunned. "Dr. Armstrong, are you okay?" Darryl asked. I nodded slowly in response. The door opened and I walked out, trying to comprehend what had just seen. "Nick!" George cried, running towards me. He immediately engulfed me in a hug, reminding me of when Dream hugged me. "Are you okay Nick? Do you need Niki?" George asked, inspecting me. I shook my head in response taking George's hand. "Uh, Nick? Where are you taking me?" George asked, flustered. I continued to pull him towards our office in silence. I opened the door and dragged him in, locking the door behind me. "Nick, why did you take me here?" George asked. "There is something else going on with Dream." I said, deep in thought. George cocked his head to the side in confusion. "What do you mean?" he asked, sitting down. I sighed and pulled a seat in front of him.
"George, I think Dream was a human."
