𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 on one of the sofas in the ski lodge was Gabriella Miller, reading her favorite novel 'The Selection' by Kira Cass. It was a book about a young girl label by status who was forced to join a competition to compete to win a prince's hand in marriage. Gabriella was so invested with the book that she did not see her mother approaching her.

"Gabby, it's New Year's Eve. Lighten up! What are you doing reading?!" Her mother exclaimed. It was ridiculous. She was worried that her daughter would not know the meaning of fun.

"But, Mom, I'm almost done!"

"Child, It's a damn teen party! I've already picked out some clothes. Now move it."

"But can I just-"

"Nope. Chop chop" With a sigh, Gabriella left and headed up to her room to change into her clothes.

"Ravi it's just a party, you won't die."

"On the contrary my brother, statistics says that twenty-six, nine percent of teen parties consist of alcohol so if we take a lot we can di-"

"Ravi, please. Don't embarrassed me" The blonde girl who stood next to them said, her name was Emma Ross.

"Now I see why you don't have any friends." The boy rolled his eyes. His name was Luke Ross, the boy who's named Ravi is his adoptive brother. Their family was on family vacation in a ski lodge and they had heard that their was going to be a party so the two older siblings took their brother and sneaked out of their rooms.

"Look, you can have your so-called fun, I'm going back to the room with Mrs. Kipling" Ravi said leaving his brother alone.

Luke walked further into the room, to see if there was anything interesting going on. 'Well this is boring.' He thought.

"Alright! How about that for a couple of snowboarders? Yeah! Alright, that's what I like to hear.Who's gonna rock the house next? Huh?" The announcer smiled as the crowded cheered loudly. He stepped off the staged and stand aside.

"Luke why don't you sing?" Luke gave Emma a 'wtf' look and shook his head no. Emma pouted and shove him forward making him yelp. A light shined on his face as the crowded cheered for him.

Then a light flashed onto Gabriella's face making her look up from her book in confusion "Huh?"

"Emma! You know that I can't sing. No you go." He shoved her forward which made her shove him back.

"It would be fun just go"

"No you!"

"The light didn't hit on me!"
