Light flooded the harem room, Theo laid still her muscles had a new ache to them. She had never been sore after any training with Bergamot, but he had never really thrown her to things with the intent of hurting her. She turned her head slowly side to side when she saw Inez. She was laying on her back, eyes wide open and mouth turned into a look of horror. Theo threw herself up and screamed. Her scream surprised her, blood curdling and loud. The other girls jolted awake and began to run from the room. Theo crawled on her knees over to where Inez lay, tears rolled down her cheeks. "Inez!" her voice shook as she touched Inez's cheek. Her finger trailed down to her neck. Large, red hand marks were clearly visible on her white skin. Theo pushed her eye lids down over her blood shot eyes. "I'm so sorry Inez." Immediately Theo knew Godrick had killed her as a punishment for saving her. "Bastard!"
"That's not true my dear, I know who my father is." Theo threw her face up to the voice. Godrick leaned against the wall in an arrogant cocky stance. "You! You killed her!" His face was unmoved, he showed no emotion. "I have no idea what you are talking about." He put his foot down and started slowly towards her. She braced herself. He sneered, "Stop your cowering, Theo. I wish only to make a point." He extended a hand to her, she hesitated but still took it. He pulled her to her feet and grabbed her by the elbow. "Do you understand? " She turned to look down at Inez, she knew what she was going to have to do, and her stomach turned. "Yes, Lordship." Godrick smiled, "Good girl." He traced his fingers slowly up her arm to her collar bone. "Your chambers are ready; I will take you to them." She looked up at him with slight distaste.
Theo meant to follow behind Godrick, attempting to avoid him, but he kept falling back to stay beside her. "How does the gift work Theo?" She didn't like how he said her name, informal and incomplete. It didn't belong like that in his mouth. "I do not know Lordship." He stole a glance of her out of the corner of his eye. "Liar, and call me Godrick." He opened the door of a room to his left, inside was a huge room. Twice the size of her chambers at Covehaven. It was all wooden however, no great tapestries. A great bed, comparable to Godrick's was in the center of the room. "You should have everything you need. I wanted to chain you to the floor, but my father is a fool and feels it isn't necessary." Theo turned to him, "It isn't." "You mean to make me believe you won't try to escape?" Her acting abilities were really being tested, "I have nowhere to go, no one. I won't leave." Godrick pulled her face up by her chin, "You really are a sad little thing aren't you?" It took everything inside her not to sneer at him. She nodded, he smiled with satisfaction.
He walked casually over to the bed and sat, Theo stood watching him. "Why should we trust you Theo?" She walked toward him, slowly and deliberately. She came up to him and placed both hands on his thighs as she leaned over close to his face. "Because, Godrick, I haven't given you a reason not to." Godrick smiled again, this time it was different, he was slightly flushed. "I trust no one, it's nothing personal." He put his hands on hers and pressed them down as he leaned in closer to Theo. Her bait had worked, he kissed her hard, and open mouthed. Instantly the bond was made, and with it Algar and Dax's bonds were re-established. What she had hoped was true, the Fae's gift had made her gift stronger. There were no visions, but she knew both men were alive and she knew what Godrick was feeling. Involuntarily she recoiled, but Godrick held her fast.
"It's true!" Godrick smiled, "You are clairvoyant." She knew the blow was coming before it landed across her face. "I, my dear, have an incredible talent for knowing when I'm being lied to. Especially by a woman. My father says he isn't going to pursue the Hunter brothers. But I have parties of my own that are loyal to me alone. I assure you, they will be hunted down, captured and brought back. I hope you can tell what I intend to do with them." Theo's face stung where he had slapped her, she knew she was stronger than he was, but she also knew he had a wrought iron blade in his belt he intended to use if she became violent. "I admire you Godrick." His expression changed to one of confusion. "You're such a big strong man, too bad you lack the confidence to handle me without wrought iron or dogs." She jerked her hands back and slid back as Godrick fell forward. Catching himself he looked at her in shock. She was far enough away that if he decided to pull the blade she could defend herself. But she knew for now, he wouldn't.
