Chapter 22

Veronica POV

The kids came home and Mick left for a tour. It was hard for me without him. I knew that it made him happy, though. "Mom, how long is dad gonna be gone?" Keyanna asked. "At least a year, baby." I replied. She began to cry. "Baby. It's alright. We'll call him every night." I reassured her. I placed a kiss on her forehead, and offered to let her sleep with me. Of course, she accepted.

We laid down in my bed and watched a movie together. My phone rang. I put it on speaker to surprise Keyanna since it was always hard for her. "Hey baby." He said. "Dad!" She said happily. "Hi Keyanna. How are you sweetheart?" Mick asked. "Good. I miss you. I hate it when you have to leave." She said sadly. "I know, hun." He replied in a sad tone. 

The other kids came in and said hi to Mick. We talked for a few hours before going to bed. "Can we sleep with you too mom?" Noah asked. "Get your butts in here." I said as I moved over. 

We all cuddled together and fell asleep. We woke up a little late. Good thing it was a Saturday. Everyone was looking a little depressed. Mick hadn't gone on tour for years and they didn't like it without him. I didn't either. 

We all did a group hug together. "I know guys, I know."

1 year later

Mick was coming home today but the kids didn't know it. He wasn't leaving again for a few years. He came back before the kids woke up. His plan was to wake them up. He shut the door behind him quietly. I walked over to him and kissed him. He got a little crazy and began to suck on my neck. "Baby, baby. The plan." I reminded him. "Right." I followed him to Adrina's room. 

"Hey, Adrina." He said as he stroked her hair. She opened up her eyes and began to cry when she saw him. Same went for the other kids. We all shared a group hug like we did before he left. 

"I love you guys."
