Chapter 4: Alex comes over

Emmett : signs : Alex is in the driveway ?. Do you want to be here while he visits Jane and Hayden.

Baylee : signs : No.. I don't want too ..

Emmett : signs : I think it would be good for the kids to have some time with their parents.

Baylee : Signs : Daddy you told Hayden that mommy and daddy weren't together anymore .. So in that case I shouldn't be in this room during the visit. Yells : Jane and Hayden come downstairs daddy is here for a visit.

(Hayden and Jane come downstairs . Alex rings the doorbell and Emmett answers the door , and Alex then enters the home .)

Hayden : Hey Daddy!

Jane : Hi

Alex : Hey... Hayden and Jane .. How are my babies ?

Hayden : I missed you Daddy.

Alex : Daddy missed you too Hayden .

Hayden : Mommy say hi to daddy

Baylee : Hey .. Alex look I am going to go upstairs

Alex : Actually I was planning on taking .. Hayden and Jane out to lunch . And I was wondering if you would join us. It's McDonald's nothing fancy ..

Baylee : It's your time with them .. No I will skip that.

Alex : We don't even have to talk .. Just focus on the kids .. I promise

Emmett : signs : Baylee he's trying ..

Baylee : okay .. Come on Hayden and Jane lets get in daddy's car.

[30 minutes later. Hayden and Jane and Baylee and Alex arrive at McDonald's. ]

Baylee : Fancy dinning Huh Alex ?

Alex : There 6 & 3 I decided to take advantage of the time.

Jane : Happy Meal ...

Baylee : Yes you can get your Happy Meal.

[ Alex gets the kids out of the car and they all enter McDonald's. Hayden and Jane and Baylee find a table and take there seats . Alex is ordering the food.]

Jane : I told Daddy . I wanted a nugget meal .. Hayden what did you tell daddy you wanted ??

Hayden : giggles : I told him I wanted a Big Mac ...

Baylee : Are you sure ?? Your going to eat that Hayden ??

Hayden : giggles : I don't know I just did it ..

Baylee : Silly Boy.

[Alex arrives at the table with their meals . Alex lays the tray on the table he gives Hayden his Big Mac and Jane her happy meal. Then takes a seat beside Baylee he places the tray in front of him and Baylee . And the tray has two milkshakes and 2 hamburgers. She sees the hamburger and then turns to Alex and flashes a quick smile at him.]

Alex : Is that what you wanted ?? I can get you something else ?

Baylee : it's fine I didn't snarl my nose up at it which means I like it . I was just giving you a friendly smile. Is that bad ?

Alex : No it was a beautiful smile.

Hayden : Grandpa emmett told me that when mommy was a little girl you use to hold her hand while she would get her medical procedures done.

Alex : I would Mommy would cry .. And then daddy would take ahold of her hand she would hold it so tight . Practically every time a painful procedure was done . grandma emmett would text aunt Daphne and tell her to bring me . I would come and talk to mommy and tell her it was okay.

Baylee : Daddy really helped Mommy a lot when she was in pain.

Hayden : Do you love mommy ?? Daddy !

Alex : I do love Mommy . She's beautiful, Smart, Kind, and the strongest woman I know . Hayden I want you to find someone like mommy deal ..

Hayden : Deal

Alex : Jane bug your not talking much ..

Jane : I am enjoying my nuggets daddy . Hayden needs to eat and stop talking

Alex : giggles : it's fine Jane he's just talking to mommy and daddy.

[1 hour later Jane and Hayden and Baylee arrive home . Alex exits the car and gets out and opens the door for Hayden and Jane . Alex helps Jane and Hayden get out of the car once Jane and Hayden get out of the car . Alex goes around to the passenger side and opens the door for Baylee . Baylee exits the car and looks up to find Hayden and Jane have already entered the house.]

Baylee : Why do I feel like I was setup .. Did you and my dad plan this ?

Alex : He said to take you out somewhere he didn't say McDonald's!!

Baylee : very funny ..

Alex : It may not be fine dinning but it's a start.

Baylee: A start at us ??

Alex: I know since we had kids we haven't been the best husband and wife ..

Baylee : we haven't.

Alex: could you possibly fall back in love with me. Slowly

Baylee : it's possible Alex but super slow..

Alex : I agree ..

Baylee : We do these dates.. And slowly learn how to be parents and be husband and wife ...

Alex : Perfect ..
