Chapter 8- The Fury

A month has past since the game of Capture the Flag, and the students are in school as they normally would be— not considering the Cassi guards that continue to roam around Dystopia. Everything was going fine and smooth, and the Masked Guard lessons continued as per usual. However, on one random Friday, news spreads through Dystopia like a virus, and an uproar in fear and anger sparks almost instantly. A Fury has been roaming around Dystopia— and the presumptions that the people hold about the vindictive, dangerous Furies only makes the news more strikingly infectious. Speculations and theories of firetypes planning some sort of revolt or attack begin circulating. Some individuals are angry whilst others shiver in fear. Even the students are shooketh about the news, discussing trough the halls and in classes and in their dorms. Jay, however, is more speculative rather than shocked— his mind instantly reminds him to the Fury he met in the woods (as we have discussed).

Name: Conläed Aithne

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Personality: Conläed is fierce and wary; he has a hard time trusting people, leading him to hide his emotions behind a fiery facade. He is defensive and stubborn, and finds difficulty in confiding in others. He is focused and determined, detail-oriented as he analyses all aspects of a situation to come down to a rational conclusion. He takes responsibility over the few he loves and trusts, and with them he tends to be snarky and humorous, cracking a joke here and there.

Appearance: Conläed is 5'7", below the average height for his age. His is thick-boned, giving him a somewhat pudgy and strong build. His hair sits as curly chestnut brown hair above his hair, with strands often cascading down to his forehead. His upturned, wide eyes are a striking mix of ember and crimson, with a slight luminance when in the dark. His features are soft, with a round button nose and a soft Cupid's bow above his thin lips. His complexion is the shade of copper.

Strengths: Incredibly stealthy due to his smaller size, great at his gift, skilled in combat and weapons— namely daggers.

Weaknesses/ Flaws: Major trust issues, can be vindictive at times, takes responsibility for his loved ones (he blames himself if something were to happen to them).

Gift: He is Fury so conjuring and manipulating fire.

Backstory: Conläed is a fire-type (Fury), meaning he was born and raised in the Demonic Realm. His sister has been missing for months as well as other Furies, raising suspicion that either magic or temperate types would be involved. Conläed joins the investigation to go to the Mortal realm (Dystopia, specifically) and spy to find clues and leads to where his sister might be. He was seen by Jay (sometime after the body at the school courtyard), and they proceeded to have a mini convo and yeah (this would have a short story iA)— this is crucial because Jay and is now aware that a Fury is in Dystopia but remains silent because a) who is gonna believe something so absurd and b) Conlaed asks him to stay quiet. This remains on Jay's mind for weeks, and those close to him have even noticed him drifting off more than usual.

It is important to consider the following things when we begin role playing:
— Chris now has a black streak in his hair due to the incident in the cave. Ash and Chris have developed a sort of stronger bond over that event (there will probs be a short story for this)
— Cam and Dec have been sus of Jay but didn't bring anything up
— There are still Cassi guards around
—I feel like there are more but I am too sleepy

What is going to happen in this chapter:
— Jay is going to sneak into the dungeons (or whatever we wanna call it) where Conlaed is being hidden. He does this at night. It is important to remember the case of the fury is confidential and it is simply rumours and fear in the village; they are not allowed any further information. Also, at that point Conlaed is silent and refuses to give any sort of information about his mission or why he is in Dystopia.
— Ross and Hal hold a Masked Guard meeting (which Jay will not attend because he had other places to be lol) to announce that they can no longer run these lesson because a) the Headmistress does not want to put them in any more danger than they may already be in and b) Cassi guards have been ordered to "ensure the safety of all Dystopians" blah blah blah.
