CHAPTER FIVE

The Blood Siren

Present Day. Twelve Hours before The Blood Siren and an hour after his attempted Execution.

Hoofbeats on ice, Techno races across the frozen wasteland and away from the place where they had tried to kill him.

Wind whips through his hair. His weapons had been stripped save for a bloodied pickaxe he had almost killed someone with. The ridge is in his sights. His heart is beating sporadically as he tries to catch his mind up to what had just happened hours ago.

Dream had helped him. Why had he helped him?

Dream had stopped the execution by sending in his loyal subject, Punz to distract the three bounty hunters that had their axes to his throat. He had escaped through the sewers after Dream uncovered them and ushered him inside, only for him to find Carl and one of the bounty hunters who had followed them. Quackity is his name and Techno had made quick work of taking him down with nothing but a pickaxe.

It didn't make sense. Dream had warned him about the bounty hunters and then warned him that he wouldn't be able to help him through his inevitable execution. Yet here he was unscathed, only because Dream had taken the situation under control and got him out in time.

Techno is now in debt of the Masked Man and maybe so was his father.

His father had watched from his house in L'Manburg or was rather forced to watch his son's execution. He would have watched another one of his sons die in front of him if it weren't for Dream.

"That sneaky, bastard," Techno had hissed in the tunnels when he realized he owed a debt. Who knew what Dream was going to make him do? And would those three bounty hunters come after him again?

Tubbo and Tommy had not been present at the execution, thank the Gods for that. Techno did not want them to see his corpse when the bounty hunters had gone through with it. Why hadn't the president been present for the execution? Techno wonders to himself.

Carl hooves hit the beginning of the ridge and Techno urges him faster.

The three bounty hunters that had shown up were Quackity, Ranboo and Fundy. Techno didn't know much about the first two save for the fact that Quackity wouldn't be walking anytime soon and that Ranboo had two different coloured eyes and could run really really fast. Though, he knew everything about Fundy.

The boy who looked like a fox, with his dyed orange hair, pointed ears and that grew three times as fast as the average human. He happened to be none other than the son of his twin.

Wilbur had accidentally gotten one of the girls in the Dream SMP pregnant the very first year his family had moved to the Dream SMP. From the bits of pieces Techno had collected over the years he knew that Wilbur had gotten a shapeshifter pregnant at the age of fourteen, had a child that should be around six years old but instead was now at the mental age of sixteen, the shapeshifting girl had run off into the ocean, and that Wilbur had neglected his son when he began rising for power.

Not to make the entire situation any more confusing but apparently, the entirety of the Dream SMP and surrounding land was a place for mental and physical rejects that St. Jude's couldn't cure or gave up on. A shapeshifter was nothing compared to a shadow demon - who was surprisingly nice - that lived amongst them.

When Techno had found out, he had been so angry that he almost murdered one of the citizens that had the same features as a cat.

After a five hour conversation with his father after the incident, Techno had begun to realize that this society he now lived in was where he belonged. He could be with others who were going through similar things as him, even if that meant risking his family's protection. He could be normal amongst the people who weren't ever considered normal in society. It was heartwarming until Wilbur pulled some strings and made the Dream SMP divided.
