"And Todoroki takes out Sero in one giant ice attack! He advances to the next round! We'll be taking a short break while the stage get re-"

With the click of a button I turned off the t.v and the room was filled with silence. Of course someone from UA's hero course could manage something like that. I couldn't be bothered to finish the showing of the sports festival when it first came out and I sure as hell don't plan on paying any attention now, especially since that should be me up there.

The sports festival finished a couple of days ago, they're just showing reruns on t.v now since it's all the hype in japan and no one will stop talking about it. Whatever, It's not like I can be bitter or anything, I chose not to go anyways.

My back started cramping from laying on the hard floor for too long so I got up to stretch. I noticed the time and it was still only early afternoon, giving me plenty of time to get a run in before making dinner and calling it a day. I let my body have one last stretch before grabbing my windbreaker and putting on my running shoes. As i'm stepping out of my apartment, I see the little old mailman walking toward my door.

"Oi, little Shoya!" the elderly mailman called out as he was approaching.

"Hello, Mr. Nakamura! Out doing your daily run?" I greeted with a warm smile.

"As always my dear, you folks have to get your letters somehow now don't ya? Speaking of which," He reaches into his mail pouch and pulls out a couple of envelopes. "Here's your mail, seems like you've got a very promising letter in there!" He says with a wink.

My eyes widened, "IS IT WHAT I THINK??"

The elderly man nods with a smile, "I'll leave you to it, make sure to come back and visit every now and then okay?"

"OF COURSE!" I squealed out. Mr. Nakamura gave me one final goodbye before I ran back into my apartment and slammed the door.

I kicked off of my shoes and immediately ran into the living room where I sorted through the letters to find that very special one.

To: Ms. Shoya Mineha
From: UA High School, Japan

I couldn't believe it. It feels like I've been waiting for this letter for decades, when really it's only been a few months. I gently made a slit in the top part of the envelope as to not damage the precious contents inside. I slowly grasped the piece of paper and pulled it out, handling it with such care as if it was the worlds most precious jewel and even the thought of dropping it could make it shatter. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, opened the letter, and began to read it.

'Dear Ms. Mineha,
We would like to inform you that there has been an opening at UA High in the Hero Course Studies and, as our agreement states, you will now be able to transfer into the hero course, Class 1-A. Please contact us as soon as you get this letter so that we may arrange for your homeroom teacher to prep assignments for you to catch up with the semester's materials and so that we may set you up in the dorms accordingly. Welcome to the family future hero!"
-Principal Nezu'

I didn't realize I had been crying until the drops from my tears stained the letter. The letter that gave me hope and brought me so much joy I had started crying. The letter that would help me finally get passed what happened and help me start my journey to becoming a hero. The letter that started it all. I'm finally going to UA.
