(I know I said I'd be writing in advance from now on but I wanted to get this out because the last chapter was rather long ago.)
~GORE WARNING?~
Everything hurt, a month had passed now. A whole month of daily pain. Why was all of it necessary? I don't know.
Not yet healed burns covered my sides sending a horrible sting through my body. The tests had started simple, with commands we had to follow.
Now the tests were becoming pure torture. The memory of the hot metal being pushed against my scales still fresh in my mind, it had glowed a bright orange when they brought it over.
Or the time when they broke my hind leg and said something along the lines of: "Let's see how quickly it will heal, if it doesn't end up healing at all we'll always have the other 2."
I figured out rather quickly that with "The other 2" they meant Chervil and Fang. They always leave them alone when it comes to the painfull things, but I don't know for how long that will stay that way.
There used to be a time where I actually felt imporant, maybe even cherished. Back when I was a foolish hatchling, brand new to this cruel world. Now I know we're nothing but money waiting to be earned. Success waiting to be reached.
We've seen so many dinosaurs die around us, even the albertosaur hadn't lived for long. Pictures of her dead corpse still something to never forget, empty eye sockets, few teeth eft in her jaws and clawless hands.
Would one of us ever end up like that? Left dead on the floor after the scientists had taken all the usefull parts?
Me and Chervil were both dozing off in the giant nest we had made. Fang was nowhere to be seen, she insisted we'd keep on looking for weaknesses in the paddock walls. But we all knew there were none, nothing but pointless hope.
A sound echoed through the underground paddock, vibrating the walls. Chervil heard it too, he looked at me as I got up to try an locate the noice. A giant door came into view, and it was open. An escape perhaps?
Only one way to find out, I tried to walk through but a panicky shriek from Chervil stopped me. "Do you have a death wish or something!? We don't know what's in there let alone if it's dangerous!" He came to a stop infront of me.
I hissed. "At this rate we'll be dead in a few weeks anyways." I pushed past him and continued walking. Chervil scrambled after me, cautious and fearfull.
The door smacked close, no more exit. Chervil yelped and crouched at my side, desperate for safety. I looked around to find a big open field with a single big tree, the whole thin was surrounded by stone walls. Not an escape then.
Another big gate opened, I craned my neck to get a better look. A big creature came stomping out of it. Two long arms, a long narrow head with snow white eyes. Dark black scales with a blue striped sail.
I looked at us with emotionless eyes, twitching fingers and an occasional flick of the tail. Then an excited grin like snarl painted across it's face. "Prey that will flee for once? Maybe even fight back. Now we're talking." It taunted as it moved closer, picking up speed every second.
"Who are you?" I asked taking a few steps back, Chervil whined from his position behind me that we needed to run and hide.
The giant carnivore seemed slightly surprised by the fact that I had started talking instead of legging it with my tail between my legs. "It's Tesir." He said narrowing his eyes at me.
"Not going to run? Not going to put on a fight? Pity." Tesir growled before lunging at me, jaws open wide ready to snap my neck.
I turn around and run, ivory daggers closing just behind my tail. Chervil is running right beside me, fear clouding his eyes. I scan the area, all open field, no places to hide. No forest, no bushes and no tall grass. Nothing at all.
Except for the tree, the only spot to hide. I run right for it, no other target in mind. Thundering footsteps shake the ground, yet they aren't my own. Tesir was still chasing, closing in, not giving up.
Once I reached the tree I jumped, my claws hooked deep into the bark as I started climbing up. I sat down on a branch, Chervil seems to have noticed where I went and headed straight for the tree aswell.
He jumps up against the bark just like I had done, we were safe, we actually survived. Then he chased into Chervil's side, clamping his jaws around his body. I heard Chervil shriek, I heard myself shriek.
Tesir skidded to a stop, taking a struggling Chervil out of his jaws with his clawed hands. He looked straight at me. "He's a bit slow isn't he?" Tesir cheerfully chirped. He traced one of his claws over Chervil's throat.
"Leave him alone!" I shrieked making Tesir look up. "I take it he's dear to you then? Is he a friend? No. A cousin? No not that either. Your brother? Oh ofcourse he is!" The spinosaur spoke with pure excitement from the hunt.
Tesir pulled a dramatically innocent as he pushed his claw against Chervil's throat.
"Would be a shame if somebody, oops-" He said as he pulled down his claw in one quick smooth movement.
Chervil's eyes widened, what I guessed was a shriek came out as a gurgle like noise as blood spilled from his jaws.
Tesir let go of Chervil who fell onto the ground continuing to make the gurgling noise.
His blood painted the ground a bright red and his intestines decorated the floor. Ivory white ribs were visible in the ripped open chest, maybe even a lung.
Finally Chervil went limp, the horrified look on his face never disappearing. I couldn't look away, not as he laid there on the ground after suffering so much.
And it was once again my fault, except this time my mistake had resulted in a death. How would I explain this to Fang, how could I ever live on knowing that I caused this.
I should have ran when Chervil asked me to, or never have entered that stupid door to begin with. Now he was dead, not a single thing in the world would change that.
"Just come down, I'll catch you eventually." Tesir crooned. I didn't care, I'd hold on to this branch with my life as long as I still lived it. He started ramming into the tree with his head, trying to make it fall.
Then he shrieked, something red and fluffy was stuck in his neck. He started to stumble all over the place like he was dizzy, then collapsed to the ground. I was hit with one of the fluffy red things not much later.
I couldn't keep my grip on the branch tight enough, so I fell down and hit the ground.

I realize the idom probably can't climb trees but they're small right now so I think it's fine. Also Chervil is dead now, no more of him. Ye.
Just got jumpscared by my phone, only showing me the top half of the story. Damn you phone.
Here you have some refs, I wasn't planning on this but I guess this might help give you a better idea of how some characters look. I might try to draw them refs myself when I have time and motivation until then:
Spino base: https://www.deviantart.com/shin-morgyzilla/art/Free-To-Use-Spinosaurus-Base-840355175
Indom base: Can't find exactly what I'm looking for so I'll have to draw it myself. Pfff I have to be active.
