Chapter 3 - Betrayal

I laid curled up, my heavy tail over my snout. I felt a strange heat on my scales. I'd never felt this kind of heat on my scales before but it felt.... Nice... I pulled my tail off my snout and slowly brought up my head.

I slowly got up and stretched, the spikes on my back shook. I opened my jaws in a big yawn and shook my head. As soon as my eyes opened I was met with a blinding light that seemed to burn into my eyes.

I closed my eyes with a grunt before blinking a few times to get used to the lighting. Once my eyes had recovered I took my time to look around. My jaws opened slightly at the sight that I found infront of my eyes.

Beautyfull green grass as far as the eye could reach, flowers in every color and shape, huge trees and a bright blue pond that almost seemed to glow a light blue. I took a step forewards feeling the grass under my claws. It felt so much better than the hard and cold concrete of the small dome we called home in the lab.

One step turned into two steps, two steps turned into 3 steps, 3 steps turned into 4 steps and eventually I found myself running through the field. If this was what freedom felt like, I'd do anything to have it every day of my life.

I came to a halt infront of the pond and looked into it. Whenever I looked at the glass of our old dome was made of I could always see the very vague outline of my reflection but the pond showed me the clearest reflection I had ever seen of myself. What I saw didn't exactly please me but I knew better than to hate it. Hating on the way I looked would only make life in the lab harder.

I gave myself a good look before turning away from the pond because the longer I stared at my reflection the more I began to hate it. I scanned my eyes over the field once again. I was free for once so I might aswell enjoy it instead of sobbing over looks.

I gave a playfull yelp before launching myself into the long grass. As I ran through it the grass slapped me in the face and I even got some on my mouth filling it with a terrible taste that made me stop in my tracks causing me to faceplant into the dirt.

I spit out the grass which was now accompanied with dirt. I tried to get all of it out of my mouth but the dirt seemed to be stuck to my tongue forcing me to turn back to the pond. On my way back I allowed my red eyes to scan over every single flower I could see on my path, looking at every single small detail they held.

Out of nowhere the grass infront of my started shaking bringing me to a halt. As the grass began to shake even more violently I pushed to the ground on all fours, my back curved like a cat would curve theirs whenever threatened or angry. I bared my teeth and let out a threatening hiss.

My loud hissing came to a stop when a fluffy white bunny bounced out of the grasses. It halted and just stared at me. I blinked in confusion before crouching down. About two days ago one of the scientists had dropped a bunny into our dome. Honestly it didn't taste that good but the thrill of a first hunt was amazing.

I crawled closer to it with a growl. But the bunny didn't seem to care about the approaching predator trying to hunt it. It bounced another step towards me causing me to pull back up with a confused growl. Out of nowhere it's fur turned black and it's eyes a blood red as it pounced at me with a deafening screech.

My eyes shot open and I sat straight up. I was back in the dome again. The same cold concrete floor now placed where the soft grass was still placed a minute ago. I looked behind me and saw the same lab I had been stuck in for my whole life. 

Yet to my surprise almost all the scientists had gathered around our dome, mumbling and whispering to eachother while looking at something behind me.

"Look who just woke up...." A voice rang behind me. It was a voice I knew oh so well. Normally it was filled with love and care but this time..... It had a cold sinister ring to it. I huffed before a cry for help rang from behind me aswell, the same deafening sound the bunny had made, but this time it was filled with fear.

I quickly turned around on the spot and found myself looking straight into my sisters violet eyes. Her jaws which carried the same crooked teeth as my own displayed an evil grin. I saw a figure inbetween her dark green claws.

My blood froze as I realized who the figure was. My brother was being held inbetween her claws. She has pushed one of them dangerously against his throat, ready to slice it through at any given moment. The fear in my brother's brown eyes almost broke my heart. He let out another cry, this time louder. In a response to the cry my sister pushed her claw harder against his throat causing a little bit of blood to drip down his neck. 

"Shut it wimp" She hissed at him before turning er gaze back to me.

"What are you doing!? You're hurting him!" I yelped as I quickly walked over shocked by my sisters actions. She'd never shown this side of her before so I didn't even know she had it.

"Thats the point." She hissed, the small evil grin returning onto her crooked jaws. "I have an offer.... If you decline he dies..." She said pushed her claws even harder against his throat. "But if you accept.... I'll let him go.." She said the sinister tone returning to her voice.

"But he's your brother! He's our brother!" I yelped in fear and confusion. "Y-you wouldn't kill family!" I said taking a step closer.

"Take it or leave it sis! His fate is in your claws!" She hissed.

"F-fine.... What is your offer?" I quietly said. A grin appeared on her face.

"I knew you would care enough about our brother." She said with a voice so cheerfull it sent shivers down my spine. "I want to fight you for the alpha rank in exchange for our brothers life..."

AAAAAA my first ever cliffhanger! Hopefully it's a good one qwq Anyways sisterly betrayal! I needed to bring in some action so um yeah qwq Hope I didn't keep anybody waiting too long ive just been working alot on school these days TvT Also please suggest minor plot ideas! I don't bite and I surely wont tell you your idea is terrible! Just nothing lemon related please because that is way e w and I wouldn't feel comfortable writing that XD
