Life on Olkarion was honestly incredibly peaceful. The impossible contrast between life on the Castle and life with the Olkari had Lance almost uneasy with the change at first. And that wasn’t counting the Olkari guards worrying about every step he took. They were worse than Keith could have ever been. Which was honestly annoying, so he’d do his best to avoid the guards, no matter what Alkari said about it being for his safety. Sana would help him, thinking of it as a big game. The two were getting a little too good at it though, once having completely gotten out of the tower without being spotted by a guard. Ryner thought it was a little funny. Alkari was incredibly concerned about the fact that a five pheobs pregnant teen, Galra kit, and a mentally handicapped Galra-Balmiran crossbreed could sneak around, and out of, their safe house, considering the entirety of the Galra Empire may be hunting them.

Alkari worked with the guards, who didn’t share their leader's sense of humor, in trying to keep an eye on Lance and Sana. So basically the entire tower had turned into a giant match of Hide-and-Seek, which was entertaining as fuck for Lance and Sana, exspecially after the former Paladin had found the panic room in his room. For some reason the Cuban found scaring the shit out of Alkari to be funny as hell. He blamed the hormones. Alkari honestly had no idea how Keith dealt with Lance 24/7, he was sure his fur was turning grey.

Thankfully, today was not one of the days Lance felt like messing with the guards and Alkari. The teen was leaned up against his window, watching, possibly, his favorite feature of Olkari, rain. Though the rain being mildly acidic, and at times dangerous even for the Olkari, kept him inside. He still enjoyed it a lot. The teen leaned his head against the cool glass, a soft smile on his face listening to the soft tapping of the acidic water droplets on the window. Kit sat in his lap pawing at the window trying to catch the droplets. Sana sat a few feet away leaned forward curiously watching almost in awe as the water fell from the sky.

Kit chirped up at her papa, the teen smiling down at her as she huffed in frustration trying to attack the falling water.
“Bebé, there’s glass there, you can’t get the rain,” he laughed, petting her between her ears.
Kit whined making grabby hands at Lance. He laughed at her, pulling the kit onto his chest, leaning back against the window frame.

“Lance, what’s that called?” Sana asked again for the seventeenth time since the rain started.
“It’s called rain, Sana,” he answered, with well earned patience.
“It’s pretty,” Sana smiled.
Lance laughed, “Yeah, it is. It rained a lot back home. Me and my siblings would all go out and play in the puddles when it rained. Mama would always yell at us when we tracked mud into the house,” Lance smiled at the memories.
“Rachel was always scared of the lightning,” Lance laughed.
“What’s lightning?” Sana asked.
Lance opened his mouth to answer as a bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, it’s thunder shaking the building.

Kit jumped but didn’t seem too fazed by it, looking around for the source, while Sana yelped, scooping up Lance and Kit, and pulling them into the bed.
Lance laughed quietly, rubbing Sana’s arm, “It’s okay, Sana, we’re safe inside.”
“What was that?” she asked nervously peeking around at the window.
“Lightning,” Lance answered as lightning struck again, the sky flashing a brilliant gold, thunder shaking the room a second after.
Sana hid behind Lance again, “I don’t like it.”
Lance smiled, leaning against the larger girl, “That’s fine, just don’t worry too much about it. It can’t hurt us inside. We’re safe here.”

The lightning streaked across the window again, Kit giggling as it did. The thunder shook the room, making her purr.
“Hm, you have got to be the only baby I’ve ever seen to like storms,” Lance smiled, pulling the little kit up to his face, “Well, you and me. Mi mama always said a good thunderstorm put me right to sleep.”
Kit chirped at him looking back at the window, she chirped excitedly grabbing at the window.
