I pray that 2021 is better
Because this past 10 months has been a mess:
I long for us to stand together
2020--an itchy sweater
Causes discomfort, disappointment, and distress
I pray that 2021 is better
I sit here now, a young regretter
Of a girl I didn't say sorry to, to confess
I long for us to stand together
I hope 2021 will bring a happy newsletter
Of this, I will continually express
That I pray that 2021 is better
In 2020, faces each day get wetter,
But next year cannot regress!
I long for us to stand together
God will need to be our trendsetter
I doubt I can say this in excess
I pray that 2021 will be better
I long for us to stand together
