It had gone half past two in the morning when Eudoria made her way out of the main part of the Slytherin common room and up to the girl's dormitories.
She had been sitting looking at the photographs that Narcissa had gifted her for her eighteenth birthday as one of her presents of all the photos taken of her and the Malfoy family over the year that she had been in their care.
She couldn't help wondering if Narcissa knew, and if so, how she would react to such a thought.
She made her way up the stairs, grabbing her belongings on the way and entered the dorm with four girls already asleep in their own beds.
She slipped into her pajamas and quietly crept across the creaky floorboards to her bed.
For a while she lay there thinking. Thinking of all the fantasies that raced her mind from night to night.
"Lumos.."
She whispered as she pulled out the picture of her and Narcissa and her on her seventeenth birthday, inspecting it.
She couldn't help re-imagining all her wildest dreams and how they could come true if she only had the courage.
"Eudoria!"
Her dorm mate, Pansy Parkinson, awoke her.
"Eudoria, wake up! You've missed breakfast and Defence Against the Dark Arts is starting soon!"
She sat up in a dazed panic and quickly clambered out of bed to throw on some half- decent uniform and to fix her knotted hair before running with her books to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom on the other side of the school, which was majorly inconvenient.
"Professor Snape, I can explain i-"
She was cut short by Snape;
"10 points from Slytherin, Miss Brown.. Late.. again. You need to learn that not everyone has time to wait.. For you.."
This was her queue to situate herself at her desk and to start to follow the instructions laid out in her textbook.
All lesson while Snape re-covered the topic of Cornish pixies, a subject that they had been taught countless times, Eudoria's thoughts wandered back to Narcissa.
She was all she could think about and her mind was filled with memories and fantasies rather than her classwork.
"Miss Brown.. How many times do I have to remind you.. Pay attention!"
She looked up and took her hand off her cheek where she was resting her head.
Snape looked into her eyes. It felt as if he was wandering her soul, seeing things deep down in her mind, and by the look on his face then that was the conclusion.
"Miss Brown, see me after class.."
Eudoria panicked for a moment, shutting out all her thoughts and returned back to focusing on her school work.
After the lesson had ended she cautiously walked over to Snape's desk.
He looked up at her from his quill and parchment paper and pulled out his wand to summon a chair for her to sit on.
"Now.. Miss Brown.. As I looked into your eyes earlier this lesson and used my hidden talent of legilimency on you to figure out what.. Was so important to distract you from your work.. I saw something that needs to be addressed.."
Snape said this coldly and smugly as if he now had a secret weapon to use against her if she were ever in the wrong again.
"Narcissa?"
Snape looked confused but smug.
"What does it have to do with you! You can't use that against me!"
She panicked for a second, despite her attempt to cover up her embarrassment her cheeks still glowed scarlet red.
"No, no.. I just believe that if the Dark Lord were ever to be informed of your downright disgusting desires then you may find yourself in a.. In a sticky situation.. Miss Brown."
A smirk filled his dullish face.
"Well I bet the Dark Lord would love to hear about your little obsession with a certain muggle-born Lily Potter.. Y'know.. The one you begged him to spare that night of her murder!"
Eudoria counter- attacked with, and sometimes Narcissa's gossip came in handy sometimes.
Snape was taken back for a second. He must have thought Dumbledore was the only one to know of his creepy obsession.
"No one.. Must ever know.. About Lily."
Snape's deminor turned angry, like he could snap at any moment.
He calmed for a second, sitting back in his seat, sighing frustratedly.
"If you ever speak a word about Lily, I will expose you and 'Cissa.. But I promise to never tell if you never tell.. No one must know.."
They sat in silence for a few moments. The tension was high but with this, Eudoria exited the classroom without a word, scraping her chair across the stone floor as she got up and left.
As she knew she was out of sight, she breathed heavily, wiping her forehead with her hand, not knowing whether her life was in danger or not.
