Second Date

Marceline's POV

My hands are sweating and my heart is racing. It's our second date and I don't even know how to react about the first one. I mean, the first one wasn't even a real one, and it did not go according to what I planned. For the first one I was suppose to take her to one of my favorite band's show. It was suppose to be pretty special sharing something with her. But I guess it didn't go through. Now it's her turn to take me out, since I pretty much took her out last time. I wonder what she got planned in that pretty head of hers. Hopefully it's not too girly or too geeky. Well I won't care. I like Bonnie, a lot, and if she likes girly or geeky stuff I should try to like that stuff too. If I want to prove that I like her, I gotta prove it.

I grab my jacket and I head over to Bonnie's house. Once again, my hands are sweating and my heart is racing. Oh Bonnie, the things you do to me.

Bubblegum POV

I'm waiting for Marcy to arrive. I really hope she likes the things I planned out for our technically second date. I wasn't really sure what was going through my head when I decided, hey let's have a second date! The first wasn't actually a date, more like a rescue. Well, I kinda owe it to Marcy cause she saved me, but then again, Ice King takes me almost every week. Marcy would have to save me all the time if we date. And that got me thinking, what happens if we date? I mean we're not officially together. But I ask myself, do I want to date her? Is it going to be serious if we do? Marcy makes me feel these weird feelings that I don't know how to explain.

I was deep in thought till I heard a knock on my window. That was a signal that Marcy was here, or that Ice King was just back to take me. I went over and opened it, thank god it was just Marcy. I moved aside so that she can go in and she went straight to my bed and flopped on it. She said, "So what's the plan PB?"

"Well it's a surprise."

"Oh great."

I stared at her with shock and she said, "I mean, oh yay! Great. I love surprises."

"Well you're for sure going to like this surprise."

"Ok then, let's get going."

"Wait, I have something to give you Marcy."

"Bonnie you didn't have to. I mean, it's our second date."

"I know but I need to give you something for saving me from Ice King."

"I thought this date was your gift."

"Something else."

I went to one of my drawers beside my mirror and pulled out a box. It was wrapped in a red bow. Marcy's eyes lighted up and she took the box eagerly. I then stopped her and said, "Don't open it yet!"

"But isn't that the point of the gift? To open it once given?"

"Yeah, but this is only the first part Marcy."

"But Bonnie!"

"Wait Marcy, if you can."

Marcy pouted and I couldn't help but smile. She then smiled and said, "Fine, I'll wait. But don't complain when I want this date to be over."

"Good, then let's go."

I jumped onto Marcy, and she started to fly to our date. I told her the directions and she started heading towards the destination. I held on to her firmly fearing that I might fall, but I trusted Marcy. She won't let me fall, but I grasped onto her like my life depended on it.

Marceline POV

I felt Bonnie hold on to me, to tight, but I like it. I knew she put her whole trust onto me. I liked how she held onto me. I felt her warm pink skin against my cold white pale skin. It made me blush. I was hoping she didn't see me.

She gave me directions to where our date was. I was quite confused where she was taking us for our date. I never heard or went near a place called Fireworks. I'm guessing it's a scientific place of some sort.

We went in silence, no small talk whatsoever. But then Bonnie screamed out something, "Right there!"

"Bonnie! My ear is literally right next to you! Just talk normally."

Her voice pipped down and she said, "Oh, sorry. Well it's right there."

I saw the building. It was just a random building in the middle of nowhere. I was very confused and I asked as I landed, "Uh Bonnie, where are we?" She then took my hand and said, "Let's just go inside."

We went inside. The interior was like a lab. I'm guesing Bonnie comes here in her free time because all of the people in there recognize her. I heard hi's and hello's from people in lab coats. They don't even mind that Bonnie is hold my hand. They're just in their own personal businesses working on projects. Bonnie leads me to what seems like her station. It was test tubes and a lot of chemicals. Bonnie let go of my hand and said, "Wait there." It's not like I can go anywhere, so I shrug and sit down at a seat away from Bonnie's lab.

Bubblegum POV

I told Marcy to wait and I headed over to my lab station. I think about all the things Marcy loves: the color red, her stuff toy Hambo, and music. She seems to really like these things so I construct this makeshift fire cracker. I have to be really careful and not mix wrong chemicals. The wrong ingredients can either cause nothing or possibly an atomic bomb. This is why I love science.

I finished my creation and show Marcy, she looks confuse and says, "You made a stuff bear?"

"It's not just a bear you dumby. Come on, let's go outside."

I take her hand into mine still being careful of my stuff bear in my other hand and we head out to he field. I can sense the confusion in her face. I can't wait to show her what I did. I let go of her hand and run out to the field to set the bear. I run back and pull Marcy with me around a clear barrier. I still see the confusion in her eyes. I then say, "Okay Marcy open up your gift."

Marceline POV

I take out the present Bonnie gave me. I open it and notice that it wasn't what I expected. It was just a box with a button on it. I look at Bonnie with confusion and she looks at me with excitement. I then say, "Okay? So what is it?"

"Just push it Marcy."

I push the button and at first nothing happens, but then 5 seconds later the bear that was in the middle of the field explodes and goes up into the air. I was confused at first but then I realized why Bonnie took me to a place called Fireworks.

The bear exploded into fireworks the color of red. My favorite. It showed images of things I loved: Hambo, my axe bass, and a lot of more red things. I look over to Bonnie and she looks over to me. I stare back at the sky and watch the show.

Once the show ends, I look over to Bonnie, and she says, "So you liked it?"

"I liked it a lot Bonnie. Thanks."

She held out her arms towards me and I hugged her. I pull away and say, "You missed one thing I liked." She looked at me in confusion and says, "What did I miss?" I stare into her eyes and say, "You."

Next thing I knew, her lips were crashed onto mine. I was shocked at first because it was first a kiss on the cheek and now this? I stood there still looking at her closed eyes and she pulled away breathless. I was frozen. I didn't know what to say. Bonnie then asked, "What's wrong?" And before I knew it, I forced my lips onto hers an we kissed for what seemed like forever.
