There was no longer a chance of you waking up. You were brain dead.

For the past 4 days Kenma came every morning and read all day. He'd cry as he read. He hated this. So much.

Nothing could prepare him for today. Nothing.

He sat in the chair reading to you as he had been for the past few days. He hadn't spoken to Kuroo even though Kuroo had called and texted him everyday.

He stopped reading. He toke a deep breath then held your hand.

"Y/n, your mom should be here soon. I'm almost certain that, that today she's going to pull the plug. That this is the last day I'll ever have with you. So I wanted to say.... goodbye." He said squeezing your hand.

"I don't know what to say, what the fuck am I supposed to say? You'd know what to say, for sure." He paused.

"I love you, so much it's suffocating. I don't wanna say goodbye. I love you endlessly and I always will, I'll never forget you."

He said wiping a few tears away. "Maybe thats the only forever we were meant to have, me never forgetting you. I wish I would have held you tighter the last time I held you. I wish I could have more time, more time to love you unconditionally"

Kenma stood in the hospital room. He heard the doctor talking, but it never registered. He watched and listened as the heart monitor slowly stopped.

You are nothing more than an empty body now.

No longer a living person.

Your mother and sister cried. Kenma left. He couldn't stay. He needed air because it felt as if he was drowning. His lungs felt full of emptiness, how was emptiness so heavy? He walked out during the cold night and he screamed. He screamed and cursed the universe for this. For killing the person whom he loved most.

He ran home as he sobbed. When he arrived he ran up to his room. He cried while sitting on his bed. His mother had said something outside his door but he didn't care.

He looked at the book in his hand and opened it. He saw small writing on the first page, how had he never noticed?

"Page 43"

He flipped to that page. He looked all through it. The words.

"I love you"

Were underlined. For a moment he was calm and didn't know how he'd missed it all this time. Then he ripped all the pages of the book. He ripped every single piece into thousands of pieces, Like the universe was doing to him. Ripping him apart.

He paced around his room.

He saw that small box, the box that had the ring he was going to propose to you with in it. He had planned to do it today actually. Valentine's Day.

He grabbed it and threw it at the wall.

Then He smashed everything. The lamp next to bed, his volleyball trophies, he punched his mirror smashing it into pieces. Leaving his knuckles a bloody mess. He needed to get out again. His lungs even heavier.

He stormed out. "KENMA WAIT" his mother yelled. He didn't hear anything, he walked out. He walked a few steps before he was met with a familiar face.

"Kuroo?" He said. Kuroo looked at him then his knuckles. "Kenma..." "guess what y/n is gone she's dead! The love of my life is dead!" He said his whole body shaking with anger and sadness. "She's dead"

He said. Then he fell to his knees. He cried then looked up at the sky and cried harder.

Sometimes home is a person, y/n was his home.

His home was gone, forever.
