Two years later:
Sitting in the cottage by the small window overlooking the meadow she smiles when she spots the figure in the distance, a mop of midnight blue hair digging away at the bunches of hydrangeas growing by the lakeside.
She sighs content as she takes a sip of her warm tea, the liquid is soothing to her throat. The porcelain cup clanks against the saucer.
She absentmindedly caresses the golden band that hangs from her wrist.
In the past two years rumors had spread to almost every kingdom of the events in Narcisse. A king withered and alone, dead alongside the corpses of five other women. No one ever speaks of the one hidden among the roses, slumbering for eternity.
The kingdom of Narcisse had collapsed after that, abandoned by all its inhabitants. It became no more than a ghost of its former self.
She leans back against the chair, eyes closed as she hummed softly.
Mina's kind smiles fill her mind.
She had uncovered the truth and would keep it locked away within her forever.
The End.
