Kim Wookjin had always wanted to sing. His dream was to share his voice with countless people, to bask in the warmth music had to offer us. But, the most he could do for a musician was upload a cover of every song he knew and the only instrument was his guitar which he would soon put onto his SoundCloud afterward.
Wookjin, Or Nine (the stage name he created and urged everybody to call him), finally finished his cover of Spring Day by BTS. He laid on his bed and pulled his hoodie off, exhausted.
"Let's see how it does"
He uploaded his cover to SoundCloud and didn't think to put a description. Then the genre. "Genre? BTS? ugh forget it." He groaned.
He pressed the Pop tag, submitted it under the username N9_, and hoped for the best.
He was unsure but hoped everything went smoothly. If the algorithm lets it.
A few minutes pass and after Wookjin stared at the ceiling ready for a nap, a notification popped up. It was a direct message. As he navigated the sidebar, he let out a laugh. "The Windmill Lee Yongsoo?" He checked the message.

"Some self-promo at its worst." Wookjin thought to himself. Although it was a request he wanted to deny, he clicked on his profile and saw the cover. He thought well of it when he listened to it. He recommended Mill to listen to his original song 'Daisy' since he worked hard on it and needed all the followers he can get to reach his dream of becoming an artist under a big music label.

Wookjin liked the comment. He didn't mind having a conversation with Mill because he was gaining a loyal listener. He thought maybe, he could also gain a friend.
If this mill was this good maybe he should collaborate with him. He ended up listening to his covers of rap songs and kept them on a playlist. Whether he opens them again is telling. As he kept scrolling through Mill's profile and was stunned when he earned his first follower. It was Mill.
He enjoyed this sense of camaraderie between them. Blossoming Friendship.
That's how it started. Not only Nine's first follower but first friend.
He hoped this wouldn't be the end and that would have many more memories to come.
