Thanks for reading the story so far! So, I know this scene may have taken place in an actual restaurant, and it was Skeeter with Deke in the restaurant not Tex, I just didn't want to do it exactly as it might have been done, just so I wouldn't be writing it exactly as they had it—copyright reasons and so forth. Enjoy!

The set was something I wasn't expecting. It was inside a big warehouse building, and there was a set-up of the inside of the restaurant that we would be doing the scene in. Apparently, the scene that takes place outside of the restaurant would be taken outside and at night on the street in town. That would be done sometime later, like after the kiss scene between Daisy and Deke. The set also had cameras set up and director's chairs and everything, just like what I thought a set would look like. This would go in my notes for my column.
"Miss Daisy Miller?"
I turned around to face a handsome and tall young man who I didn't recognize, one with brown hair and in a white suit coat, black shirt and pants. He looked maybe around thirty. "Yes, that's me."
"Hi-ya! My name is Kenneth Becker. I play Wayne."
My mouth opened into and O. "Oh, you play Wayne! Nice to meet you!"
I shook his strong, warm hand that engulfed my dainty one. "The pleasure is all mine, I'm sure. And just so you know, I'm nothin' like the guy I play who gets angry enough to fight a guy."
Elvis was certainly not the that type of guy, either. "I think every actor is vastly different from who they actually play. I am certainly not the type of girl who throws herself at a guy."
He chuckled at that, and I saw a twinkle in his brown eyes. Oh boy, I know what that means. He's probably thrilled to bits that I play his on-screen girlfriend.
"So, I read about how you got the part," he said. "Pretty swell."
"Yeah, it was quite the experience." I indicated my arm in a cast. The sling was gone since they didn't want a sling in the shot. "I wasn't expecting to meet The King."
"Yeah, he's a pretty swell guy. I met him a few times in the past as we rehearsed what we're doin' today. My little sister is nuts about him. She begged me to get an autograph."
"I see."
"Daisy Miller?"
I looked over at a blonde lady who came up to us. "Yes?"
"You are needed in hair and makeup."
"Alright" I looked to Kenneth. "I will see in a little while."
"You will."
That twinkle was still there. I left him and followed the lady through a door and into a lighted hallway. I hoped to see Elvis somewhere, but I didn't see him before I entered a room that had makeup and hair products all of a counter. A mirror faced a chair the lady told me to sit in. I sat down.
"So, is all the cast here yet?" I asked the young lady, maybe a few years older than me.
"Just Kenneth, a lot of the extras for the restaurant scene, and Wendell."
I nodded. Elvis hadn't arrived yet. Or maybe she just hadn't seen him and he was in a different hair and makeup room.
The lady brushed out my hair and sprayed it with water. She bunched up my curls as they were wet. I did that when I wanted to show off my natural curl. When my hair became a little drier, she pulled my hair back and twisted it into a bun but left some of my curls down in the back. Cute!
