I never daydream during interviews, but this time, I couldn't help myself. The cast and I had another interview session after the one where Daisy was hounded... because of me. I would kick myself for that for the rest of my life, most likely. Maybe I was a softy, but I didn't like making people feel bad or feel inconvenienced. And I did that to Daisy. She felt overwhelmed and uncomfortable.
I would have to move on passed that. If that meeting with her boss went well, she would be playing Daisy, the crazy fan-girl Daisy whose boyfriend made Deke sing in a restaurant. Then a few days later, she would corner Deke in his dressing room because of a dare to steal a kiss, and basically say that he's a phony star since he's scared of her. And that would be when he kisses her to prove her wrong.
If Daisy gets this part, I would have to kiss her. Well, Kal said it was going to be fake as far as acting, but what if he changes his mind? What if I would actually have to kiss her?
A smile crossed my lips at the thought. I would have to kiss Dolores in this one, as well as give a quick peck to Lizabeth, but I had never been so excited about kissing as I was with Daisy, even though I probably wouldn't even kiss her. The notion that I would even be working with her made my nerves tickle with excitement. It was new. I never felt like this towards a girl, even the girls I went steady with in the past. Since when had I been so captivated by a girl and was tempted to inch my hand closer to hers on a table and take it?
Never. She was making me lose my mind.

Of course, Paul had the face that I knew he would have after Mr. Kanter asked him what he came to. It was the same face he had when he saw that I got a personal interview with The King and came out of it with a cast on my wrist.
"You want to put my employee in your movie?" he asked Mr. Kanter as Mr. Kanter and I sat in two chairs in front of Paul's desk.
"Indeed, sir. As I have said, I would like her to play her namesake in the movie, but it will only be a few scenes, so she wouldn't be out of work for too long. In fact, she can still be at work."
I looked at Mr. Kanter, a question in my eyes, the same as Paul. He asked, "What do you mean by that?"
Mr. Kanter held out his hands like he was spreading a news heading in front of him. "'An inside look at the making of the motion picture Loving You, starring Elvis Presley.' What do you think of that? Miss Miller here can play her part, but at the same time, write articles here and there about what goes on with the cast behind the scenes, especially with the King Himself. Huh?"
I looked at my boss, giving him a pleading look. I had already discussed this with my family and friends, and they said wholeheartedly that it was a stupendous idea, me acting in a movie... but writing articles as I did it?! It was even better! Before I could stop myself, I blurted, desperate, "Mr. Gregory?"
