Katie McGrath moves to the UK for an acting opportunity but in order to make extra money she takes up a job offer as a lecturer in a university. Little does she know a familiar face from her new set also takes a seat in her first lecture.
#1 in Kati...
My feet were killing me. I didn't know that a short walk in Charlotte's point of view meant 20 minutes and up a hill.
The restaurant finally emerged into sight and I breathed a sigh of relief. It looked to be a very authentic Italian restaurant and we crossed the road to enter.
"Ciao, do you have a reservation?" An elder man asked, a strong Italian accent prevalent.
"Yes, for Davis at 8." Charlotte replied and he nodded his head, leading us to our table.
The dinner was faultless. The food was extraordinary and the service was fabulous. I could immediately see why Charlotte liked it here so much.
We finished our 3 courses and Charlotte requested the bill.
"I'll half with you." I contributed and she shook her head, pulling her card out of her purse.
"Not tonight. This trip is on me." Her tone was stern and I knew she wouldn't budge so I nodded in defeat.
Charlotte paid the bill and we left graciously.
It was now almost 9pm and the air was bitter against my exposed shoulders.
"I'm stuffed." I muttered and Charlotte took my hand in her own.
"Let's walk it off then. I want to take you down the front." She proffered and I nodded reluctantly, knowing it would mean more foot pain.
We walked through the dimly lit city streets until we were plunged into darkness, crossing a road to be graced with the sea, a distant lighthouse and the stars being the only source of luminescence.
I could feel Charlotte's hands become fidgety and her mind clearly wasn't concentrating.
"Babe are you okay?" I squeezed her hand lightly to narrow her attention.
"Oh yeah... I'm fine." She looked sincerely into my eyes and I nodded.
We continued walking in a near silence, absorbing the character of the seafront.
"Hey, lets go down here." Charlotte pulled me lightly in the direction of a rickety staircase, leading down to some offset of rock.
"Are you sure we should go down here?" I asked apprehensively and she nodded, tugging at my hand even more.
We emerged from the bushes and stepped onto this body of rock that presented the most gorgeous view of the waterfront.
