Katie's PoV:
I had rehearsed a few scenes, doing walkthroughs and spacial awareness. Aaron finally allowed us a moment to get a glass of water, my throat dry from the constant reciting of lines.
"Why are you in such a bad mood?" I asked the redhead, purely innocent.
He gestured spitefully towards the ring prominent on my finger.
"What about it?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.
"Well, I thought you two were having difficulties." His tone was laced with jealousy and hatred.
"We wouldn't be engaged if we were." I retorted, swilling my water to the back of my throat.
"There's no need to be rude McGrath." He spat and I simply rolled my eyes.
"Need I remind you that I'm your boss?" He coaxed and I released a low chuckle.
"And how much more money do I make than you, plus I'm a woman." I began walking away, severely lacking the patience to deal with such a personality today.
I wandered down the corridor and knocked lightly on the office door belonging to Charlotte and Vivienne.
"Come in!" The elder voice exclaimed.
I pushed the door open to see Vivienne stitching a stunning dress.
"That's gorgeous." I commented, taking a seat on the side, admiring the fine details of the garment.
"I can't be certain but i'm pretty sure it's for you dear." She smiled warmly and I gasped slightly.
"You do play the princess don't you? In almost everything else I've watched you do... and you're in love with your best friend." She laughed slightly and I rolled my eyes.
"You know too much." I joked, stroking the soft satin material.
"Your fiancée designed it." She winked and laughter consumed me.
"What's so funny?" She asked sweetly and my laughter became uncontrollable.
"You winked, i'm sorry but it's hilarious." I contained my peculiar sense of humour and continued to admire the dress.
"How does Charlotte come up with these designs? They're always flawless and so elegant yet making a statement. She picks the colours that suit me best without fail, she pulls colours together and they just look effortless but she spends hours every evening drawing and stitching." I mumbled in awe.
I was always blown away every time i saw something Charlotte had designed, her brain truly was the most creative I had ever witnessed.
"It's just a part of her, the part she uses to escape reality." Vivienne analysed and I nodded.
"Like for you, acting and pretending you're someone else, taking time away from your own life. That's your escape. Designing something a fictional character can wear to bring them to life. That's Charlottes." I thought about her words and realised how similar the blonde and I were.
"When is she coming to give me a hand. This is your Scene 5 costume and if i'm right you're about to film 3." Vivienne commented and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Lauren is bringing her in, she said 2 hours after me, so any time now." I recalled and Vivienne sighed.
"Lazy kid." She joked sarcastically and I giggled.
"She's moving her stuff into my place. There's not much as it's straight out of a uni flat but it makes it more homely for her." I added with a smile.
"That will be really good for her... having somewhere to call home, instead of paying to stay in some shabby building that's not hers." I chuckled with a smile in response.
"You're right there, I just want her to be as comfortable as possible. I've reintroduced her to her cousin as she's one of my best friends and I'm hoping that will help her realise that not all of her family is horrible and that she can choose to make a new one. I hate seeing her upset, she doesn't deserve it." I smiled sadly, leaning backwards in my chair.
Before Vivienne could reply, the door behind us opened.
"Hola." The blonde smiled, rushing over to me and wrapping me in a warm hug.
"Bonjour. Did everything go okay?" I asked as the younger woman sat on my lap.
She nodded in reply before shuffling to admire the creation in front of us.
"Vivienne you've outdone yourself with this one." She placed a hand under the netting, ensuring the embroidery was secure enough.
I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her back into me, whispering in her ear.
"You're the designer, this is just your brain in fabric."
She smiled softly before mumbling something incomprehensible.
"McGrath?!" The Scottish accent I had learnt to despise echoed through the external corridor.
"In here!" I called, keeping Charlotte close to me.
Aaron opened the door as we watched his jaw promptly fall to the floor.
"Um... is this appropriate workplace behaviour?" He asked sternly and Charlotte tried to hide her smirk.
"I mean we are engaged and have signed 3 forms already. It's fine. Plus, this is her office, up to her and Vivienne what we do with it." I retorted spitefully as he visibly backed down.
"Well... get yourself into that dress... we're going to film Scene 5." He ordered before slamming the door behind him as he left.
Charlotte erupted into a fit of giggles, squirming on my lap.
"Better do as the ginger nut says." I smiled as Charlotte briskly jumped to her feet.
Vivienne thread a final stitch through a flower before standing up, holding the dress in its full glory.
"It really is stunning." I smiled at the pair of them as the dress was placed cautiously in my grasp.
"It'll be even more stunning when it's on you." Charlotte winked as I visibly blushed.
I tiptoed carefully into the small changing area, not wanting to tread on any loose material.
I slipped the dress on before revealing myself to the pair.
I walked into the open space and did a fancy twirl.
"Gorgeous." Vivienne commented as Charlotte sat down.
"Wow." The blonde was more or less speechless as I giggled softly.
"Go go go, or else he'll get angry." Vivienne rushed as I nodded, slipping off the heels before delicately rushing to the filming studio.
