Hope's Peak Academy is a private school. An elite intuition with strong government support, Hope's Peak scouts out high school students who rank as the ultimate in every conceivable field of endeavour. As it nurtures and cherishes these young rays of hope who shine upon the future of our nation...it thus truly becomes "The High School Of Hope."
I'm Y/N L/N and tomorrow I enrol at Hope's Peak Academy.
I sit at my desk, scanning the internet for information about this years class at Hope's Peak. My eyes are glued to the screen of my computer as I come across many different articles. It wasn't my choice to go to this school, a few weeks ago I received a letter stating that I was an 'ultimate' and that I was scouted out and was asked to enrol at Hope's Peak. Honestly, I didn't want to go. I wanted to stay with my friends and go to the same place that they were going to. But as soon as my mum saw that letter, she immediately responded saying that I had accepted. So that now leads me to where I am now; Scanning my computer with the tiniest bit of hope that I will know someone that is in my class this year.
I sighed as my head falls into my hands. "It's useless," I mumbled. "I'm just gonna get judged anyway." I was interrupted by a knock on my bedroom door. "Come in." I said and stood up from my desk chair and went to grab my phone from my nightstand. The door soon opened and I was greeted by my father. "Hey kiddo, how ya feeling?" he asked. I just shrugged a response as I fell onto my bed. He sighed and sat down next to me. "I know you don't want to go but in all honesty there is nothing you can do about it. Just think of it as a new experience and you never know, something good may come from it."
"Easy for you to say" I mumbled, hoping that he didn't hear me.
He did.
I noticed him looking at my computer and heard him slightly chuckle. "Doing a bit of research now are we? Not like you at all." He laughed, getting up and walking towards the computer. I smiled at his statement and sat up from my position. "I didn't even think this computer could search things at all! All you ever do is game on it." He continued, laughing more now.
"Rude. I also watch anime." I pouted in response.
"You and your stupid fads." He chuckled as he waved off my response and sat on my desk chair to get a closer look at what I was looking at. "Researching other ultimates I see. Why was one not good enough?" He turned to smile at me. I just sighed and continued to play games on my phone. "Let's have a look at my darling daughters new classmates then." Thinking out loud, he began listing the names of the students. "Junko Enoshima - Ultimate Fashionista, Byakuya Togami - Ultimate Affluent Progeny, Mondo Owada - Ultimate Biker Gang Leader. Oh look! Sayaka Maizono - Ultimate Pop Sensation, AKA your brother's crush." I giggled at the last part of his sentence knowing that my brother will be so annoyed that I will be going to school with his celebrity crush. My thoughts were interrupted by something I thought I would never hear in my entire life. "Hey there's an article about you!"I immediately threw my phone on the floor, not caring about it one bit, and ran towards my father. "What!? How!!? Why!?? Where!? When??!!!" Was all I could say. I was shocked yet confused.
"Woah calm down kid. Look: Y/N L/N - Ultimate Guitarist." My mouth fell open as I saw my dad point to a picture of me and my band. I cringed at the old photo of me holding out my black and purple electric guitar that was covered in skulls and broken hearts. My friend/Bass guitar player, Caitlin, had her arms around my neck, playing with my H/L, H/C hair that had F/C dyed tips. The lead singer and drummer, Izzy and Chloe, were standing next to us, posing. It was a cringy photo but a sweet memory. "Young Death shall live on." My dad said, hand to his heart. Young Death was the name of our band. Weird name I know but we were just a bunch of edgy teenagers when we got together and we can't be asked to change the name. Plus, it's what we are known for. I nodded and turned to my right to face my electric guitar. We would always go to the local takeaway place and then practice in my garage after school. It was the best. I smiled as memories came flooding back.
