Chapter 3 - The Beginning

*Ding Dong, Bing Bong*

We all looked up at the monitor hanging on the wall. The screen was fuzzy and blurry but you could just make out the shape of a mysterious figure. Then it started to speak.

"Ahem! Ahem! Testing, testing! Mike check, one two! This is a test of the school broadcast system! Am I on? Can everyone hear me? Okay, well then...!" The voice seemed totally out of place. It was so playful, so completely unconcerned... I couldn't help but feel a deep unnerving dread at the sound of it. It was like hearing someone laugh at the scene of  an accident. It then continued. "Uhh, to all incoming students! I would like to begin the entrance ceremony at... right now! Please make your way to the gymnasium at your earliest convenience. That's all! I'll be waiting.." After that the monitor cut out and we were all left there confused and frightened.

Junko was the first to speak. "What. The. Hell was that just now?" We were all thinking the same but sadly, none of us could answer it.

"Well then, if you'll excuse me..." Byakuya was the first to leave.

"H-Hey! What you're gonna take off just like that!? Get back here!" Junko shouted after Byakuya.

"Junko he's already gone..." I mumbled.

"Ohh yeah, now I get it! This whole thing was just to get us pumped for the entrance ceremony!" Exclaimed Hiro. "Man, thank god it was all a joke. I'd be totally freaked if it was real! Alright, I'll head out too. Wonder what they got planned for us next." He was the next to leave. How can he still think like that? I don't understand him at all.

"W-wait for me! I wanna go with you!" Shouted Chihiro and ran after him.

"Alright I'm going." Announced Leon. "Y/N?" Everyone that was still in the room immediately stared at me.

"I- Uh, yeah I'm coming." I responded. I guess it was the only thing I could do. I would have had to go at some point, I couldn't just stay in the main hall forever could I? Plus I couldn't handle the eyes of my fellow classmates drilling into my soul. So me and Leon left the others to go to the gym and see what the heck was going on.

The walk there felt longer than it actually was. Every step I took made me feel even more nervous, this whole thing is starting to scare me. Something didn't seem right with that announcement and I want to find out what's happening. But what if it's a trap and we could be in danger!? This is a school, they wouldn't do that. Right? My head was spinning with all of these thoughts. I can't control it. My body stopped walking. Something inside of me is telling me not to go into the gymnasium. Leon noticed my actions and stopped as well. "Hey are you ok?" He asked.

"I...I don't know." I responded. "Something just doesn't feel right and I'm scared that something is gonna happen."

He looked at me. "Hey, I'm sure everything is gonna be ok. Everyone here is in the exact same position as you, none of us understand what the heck is going on either." He reassured me. "Look I'll be right here if you need me ok". I looked at him and smiled. Somehow he could be really comforting. "Now come on, let's go and find out what's going on." He patted my head and approached the large door with a sign titled "Gym" on it. Yeah he's right. I can do this! No- We can do this! I smiled to myself and caught up with him.

I pressed my hands on the large door and slowly pushed it open. Was I still afraid? Yes. Did I still have a bad feeling about this? Yes. Was coming to this school a good decision? So far probably not but we just have to have hope I guess. I swear if I die here or something, my mum is going to regret the day I was born. Haunting my family would be so much fun though.

We entered a room that seemed to be where they kept all of the achievements of the school. There were trophies, medals, plaques and more. It weirded me out. This room looks like something you would find in a school, a room where they would show off their greatness to encourage more people to come here, but yet this place shows little resemblance of a school. Or at least it does now.
