(Title translation - faced with something new or facing something new
A/N: underlined words in this are conversations you're writing on paper. So if it's underlined, it's written down.)Megumi's POV:
We headed back to the school with the girl we found at the school. She still hadn't said a single word. And Gojo-Sensei assigned me to find out more about her. And train her if need be."Megumi. Show our guest to her dorm." Gojo said.
I sighed at Gojo-Sensei's job for me and showed her where her room would be. She opened the door and her face seemed to light up slightly in the moonlight. She went in and just flopped down on the bed. She then started looking around but I don't know what for.
"What're you looking for?" I asked her, still stood at the door.
She motioned for me to come in and, with her hands, motioned for some paper. It took a while for me to understand since she was pretending to draw on her hand. I left her room and headed to mine, grabbing some paper and a pen.
I'm Y/N L/N. I was too scared to say earlier on. I'm still too scared to talk as of now.
"Scared? Why're you scared?" I asked her after reading the note.
Because. Everything that happened today was so new to me. A scary experience I had never faced.
"That's understandable. Do you have somewhere to go back to? To grab your stuff I mean?" I ask after heading her response.
Yes but I'd rather not go back there. I'm faced with enough horrid memories from today. I don't want past memories flooding back.
"Right... so then ask Gojo-Sensei." I reply, after reading the note. I wonder what she meant.
Mhm. But then wouldn't that be a burden on him? I'll just have to muster up some courage and go. Besides, I could never ask someone to do something for me. I'd rather be independent. Cos then it just says I'm a weak individual.
"I get it. Anyway, try and get some rest, ok?" I say, leaving her dorm.
Your POV:
Megumi left my dorm and I placed the paper and pen on a nearby desk. I didn't get a chance to say goodnight! I quickly wrote down a note on the paper and headed to Megumi's room. I knocked on the door and handed him the paper before slipping away. He stopped me before I could leave though."There should be some clothes in the cupboard. I think Gojo-Sensei put them there earlier." Megumi told me.
I nodded my head before heading back to the dorm room. I opened the cupboard and brought out the pyjamas that were there. It was a pair of shorts and t-shirt. Great. Let's just hope I don't go outside in this. I don't want them to know I have two missing limbs replaced by cold metal.
I put on the clothes and climbed into bed. Falling asleep immediately.
"Y/N. You insolent child. When will you learn?!" I heard my mother shout at me.
"I've had enough! Come with us." My father added on.
They took me outside and dragged me to one of their missions. Where they had to fight off a powerful curse. They gave me a sword and told me:
"Here. This should curb your insolence. You can fight the smaller curses with this sword. Try to hold your own, or you'll die. Well, that is what we want from you." My mother said, venom lacing that tone of hers.
I fought and fought until I lost one limb. I cried out in pain before my parents made me continue. I fought and fought before losing the next limb. All of the curses were dead. Including my parents. I barely survived.
I jolted upright in the bed, breathing erratic and sweat dripping down my forehead. Then the tears came, why now? Why did this memory have to implant itself in my mind again?
I was still breathing rather quickly when I heard a knock on my door. I climbed out of bed and went over to it, ignoring what I looked like. I opened the door and saw Megumi, yawning.
"Y/N? What's up? I heard you crying." He said, still tired.
I motioned for him to come and sit down while I went to turn on the lamp. I wasn't in the best of places so I didn't care if he saw me like this.
"Y/N? What happened to your arm? And leg?" He asked me.
Well, I was crying because I had a bad dream. More like a nightmare. About the night I lost it all. My so called parents and my arm and leg. My parents never cared for me. They just called me insolent all the time. One day, they decided to take me on one of their missions. They gave me a sword and told me to "hold my own" against curses I had no idea how to fight. It all went downhill fast. I first lost my leg, screaming in pain my parents told me to continue. I kept fighting before losing my arm. My parents soon succumbed to the curses but not before they were dead. So now I have to live with a false arm. False leg too.
"Y/N... I'm sorry." Megumi said, not looking at me.
My breathing was still slightly erratic from having to face such a dream and then re-explain said dream to another person.
"Hey. Calm down. It's ok." Megumi said.
No one has ever seen me this vulnerable before. I hate it. I hate it so much. But. I guess it's calmed me ever so slightly.
"Try and get some rest. We're going out tomorrow." Megumi said, turning to me.
Where?
"Sendai. Gojo-Sensei wants me to locate something. I'll tell you in the morning." Megumi explains.
Good night.
"Good night." Megumi says before leaving.
I then lay down and succumbed to sleep yet again.
