Chapter 7

We arrived at the front entrance of the amusement park which was bigger than I expected. The front gates had colorful flags at the top and the entrance was an arch that looked like I was going to enter a magical kingdom. I could hear thrilling screams from the roller coasters from the ticket booth and smell mouth-watering treats. The air had a thick smell of popcorn, hotdogs, fried chicken, and everything that shouldn't go in your body. This is exactly how I imagined it! It was perfect. To top it all off, the weather was perfect today. Not a cloud in sight. I noticed Eren was getting stared at by moms, teens, pre-teens, and even elderly women! They were gushing and whispering about how handsome he his but I didn't pay any mind. It's not like it's a date anyway...

"He's so cute! He looks like a model. I wonder if he came with someone."

"I saw him come in with that girl over there. I think that's his girlfriend."

"No way! A plain girl like that can't be his girlfriend."

"You're right. You should ask for his number."

I listened quietly to two girls who looked to be about my age whispering and giggling nearby. Whisper is kinda loud. I sighed to myself. I can't let them ruin my time but they're right. Eren's looks stand out in this crowd. Nobody would ever think we were together. I don't look right by his side. Not like it matters. He doesn't like me like that. But if today was supposed to be payback for saving me, why would he take me to a couple of hotspots?

"Oi don't just stand there like an idiot. Hurry up." Eren shouted from a distance waving two tickets in one hand. I shook these negative thoughts away and ran over to him. We both walked together to the arched gates. There was a lady in a working uniform who checked the tickets. When she finished doing that, she gave us a hug and smile and wished us both a good time.

"You two have fun now! Ah, it must be nice to be young again. You two make such an adorable couple."

"We aren't together-"

"Thank you, we will have fun." Eren cut me off and waved dragged me away leaving her to her duties. I stopped in my tracks and Eren looked back at me. He let go of my hand and saw my pouty face.

"Why did you cut me off? And why did you bring me here? I thought I owed you."

"You ask too many questions...I'll tell you later. Just stop asking so many questions."

"But- fine," I said crossing my arms and looking mad. If I have to be honest, I wanted to enjoy today but I was so confused about Eren taking me here. I don't know what he was thinking and maybe I wanted this to be a date...But I didn't think that fact should get in the way of today. I softened my face and waited for Eren to lead the way again. I liked how I never had to lead. Eren always knew where to go and what to do

"Good girl. We're going to that roller coaster. Hope you're not scared of them." He said while smirking. He pointed to the large one in the distance. By far it was the largest one. I gulped. I wasn't particularly scared of heights but I've never been on a roller coaster and the fact that I could hear the chilling screams of people who went on the ride made my stomach churn. But I would never show Eren I was scared. Nope! Besides, there is a first time for everything.

"I'm not scared! What are you waiting for let's go." I spoke confidently leading the way now.

As we were walking, I was enjoying the sights around me. I could see people dressed in the cutest animal suits handing out balloons to children and my favorite was particularly this cute bunny that wore a red bow tie. It waved at me and I waved back. I know that whoever was under the suit was probably on the verge of a heat stroke but they're part of the reason people love amusement parks so the least I could do is wave at them for doing their job. I was waving at all of them and smiling anytime they did something funny or cute. I giggled at the sights and didn't even realize I was walking with a hop in my step. I also didn't realize Eren was observing my reactions.
