-Barbra-

"How could you guys! Without my permision?" I was stunned. It was not like my friends to go behind my back and make such a big move that could influence my entire life.

"You are always talking about how you miss Gotham. We thought you would be happy to have an excuse to go see your friend..." Jessica said geniunly.

"Please Babs, we know you want to go...I'll even pack your baggs for you." Zee fluttered her eye lashes inocently and started to shout an incantation. "All done..."

Luggage bags apeared infront of me.

"Are you getting rid of me?" I blinked back tears.

"No no no...we are not getting rid of you Barbra Gordon. Matropilas will be boring without you," Diana patted my shoulder. "But all in all there is enough superheroes here and it is time you make a life for you apart from all this. See this as a boost towards it."

I understood where they were coming from but ... how do you leave all this behind you. Hero duty is my life and I don't know how to live without it.

"Don't worry Babs, there are still pretty tough villians in Gotham. Come on see it as a challange..."Cara's words did cheer me up a little bit.

They were right. As a 20 year old it is logical that I get out there and grab life by the horn in a civilian way of course.

[At the Wayne Mannor]

-Bruce-

I was in my study when Dick came barging in having, I presume ,watched the riddiculous show.

    "Are you insane!" He demanded.

I kept looking out my study's window with the swimming pool as a view. We hardly ever use it.

With my back still to Dick I answered him,"It was Alfred's idea. He believes it would be good to have some civilian compony. Of course I wasn't expecting the winner to be Barbra Gordon."

I knew she was Dick's childhood friend and once upon a time more than that. If it was going to bother Dick then it would be wise to send him away for awhile. That would leave the mannor down to two boys, me and Barbra.

"If it pleases you, I can always arrange a place for you to stay at Mount Justice." I had finally turned to Dick. He seemed stressed.

"I won't be kicked out of my own house..."

"Then get your act streight. One of us needs to keep an eye on her for safety when the other is busy. She won't find out our secrets under any curcamstances."

"Fine..."Dick left and I was left alone with my thoughts again. That is until Alfred entered the room.

"Master Bruce, shall I go and collect Miss Gordon?"

"Yes, Alfred...anything on the news about our old commissioner?"

"I am afriad he is still missing, sir."

"Then perhaps having Barbra here isn't such a bad idea. Atleast she would be safe." I toutched the file before me. It was her sighn up form. A radient photo of Barbra as young as Dick. About twenty I asume.

What I wouldn't do to keep my promise...

-Dick-

My thoughts were going wild. What should I do. Its been four years since she left and we stopped seing each other. I didn't leave things on a good note. How was I supose to face her after all this time. I mean of course she must have moved on. I mean...

    How could you Dick!

I still remember the day I hurt her. I wonder if she still smells like roses or her lips taste like strawberries...

Stop it Dick...she is just a friend...it has to stay that way...

I punched the bag again and agian...

Urg...I guess I am just mad at myself...

-Barbra-

I gasped in awe as we neared the mannor. It felt like ages since I last saw it. But I know it has only been four years and the last time I walked those halls was when I was sixteen. The day I discovered something I never knew I would feel when I saw my childhood crush. This place has always felt like home.
