They all had to go their separate ways to find their token to trigger their memories. They all had split over that one summer of IT, after Bill and Richie's fight. Even though Layla sided with Bill, she did isolate herself until it was time to save Beverly.
But Layla had no clue where her token would be, let alone where she spent that one summer. Parts of her memory were blurry, coming and going in small fractions. However, she did think one place where all of the Losers spent time together.
Layla stood in front of Derry's movie theater. It looked like it had not been opened in years and looked pretty worn down. She looked around the area to make sure people weren't watching and slipped right through the door. She pulled out her phone and was using it as a flashlight.
The theatre was dark and smelled like the interior was rotting away and it was. Cracked walls, debris, empty popcorn bags and cups scattered across the dirty floor. The Derry movie theater only had one room, making it pretty small. Slowly, memories of the Losers coming to watch eighties horror and comedy movies came to Layla and she smiled softly.
Layla saw how torn up the seats were, the yellow stuffing sticking out of some of the chairs. She also saw how the white screen was somewhat filthy but in somewhat good condition. She had this feeling come over her that she needed to go to the back room where the attendee's would play the movie. Layla walked into the room and moved her flashlight across the room, landing on a desk layered with loose papers.
She walked over and moved the papers out of the way gently, until her eyes landed on a picture of the Losers together. It was taped to the side of the desk. She gently picked up the picture and flipped it over.
NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 1989 - WAS NOT SCARY SIGNED THE LOSERS
Layla laughed at the writing. The movie theater was showing a re-run of Nightmare on Elm Street and they had all gone to see it. Suddenly, a memory flashed in her mind.
''Luke, come on. It'll be funny.'' Layla laughed, waving the picture in front of the sixteen year olds face.
''Layla, I could get in trouble.'' Luke explained, running a hand over his face.
''Richie bet me ten dollars that I wouldn't be able to do this. Help me out. Help me prove Richie wrong.'' Layla begged. ''My dad gave you an out-of-jail free card when you had alcohol in your car and he pulled you over. He knows I come here a lot and I told him you're the best employee here. So take it.''
