Edit That Bit Out

Chapter One

I pressed record on the camera and started filming a video. "Hey, guys!", I said with a wave, "So today I was-" my sentence was cut off by the sound of my door slamming open. I let out a yelp as Dan walked in, "Phil, are you using the tripod?" he asked. "Yes, Daniel", I said waving toward the camera, "how about you join me? We can make a video together. We can do the seven second challenge." He seemed to think about it for a minute before joining me on my bed. I stopped recording and restarted the camera. "Hey, guys! So today I'm here with Dan."

"Hi!", He smiled to the camera. "So today we thought we could do the seven second challenge. Now I know we do this on the radio show every time we're on but I thought we could make it last longer in a video. Whoever looses three looses the whole game. Does that sound fair?", I said half to the camera and half to Dan. "What. Oh. Uhm. Yeah sure.", Dan said uncertainly. "Dan, would you like to start?" He hesitated for a second and then said "Okay. Phil, you have seven seconds to make the sounds of three different farm animals. Go!"

"Ah!", I panicked, "Uhhh...MOO, BAA...UHM...QUACK!"

"Is a duck a farm animal???" Dan laughed.

"I dunno. I panicked and it was the only thing I could think of...", I muttered.

"I'll accept it," Dan said leaning closer to me and gently brushing my hair off my forehead, "only because you're really cute." He leaned in closer and softly pressed his lips against mine. I raised my hand to his head and lightly played with his hair. He slowly moved away from me and looked at the still recording camera. "Edit that bit out.", he whispered. I smiled, "Don't worry, love, I always do." He smiled back. We continued recording the video as if nothing had happened before. Dan ended up winning, as usual. When we were finished I decided to put off editing the video for a bit and asked Dan if he wanted to order a pizza. After the pizza arrived we both sat on the sofa and watched anime while eating. After about four episodes and three quarters of a pizza Dan decided to go to his room and get ready for bed. He kissed me on the forehead before getting up and walking away. I figured it was time I start editing the video, I made a promise to myself that I would upload at least once a week. Today's Wednesday and I haven't uploaded anything. I walked to the office to begin editing. "Delete the first little bit before Dan came in, delete any part where we talked to each other about nothing in particular", I thought to myself. Everything useless got deleted. Then there was the small part where Dan and I kissed, while that wasn't useless to me it had to get deleted. I changed some other stuff with the video and saved it all so I could upload it tomorrow afternoon. I looked at the clock and saw that it was nearly two in the morning. "Okay. I need sleep", I said out loud to no one. I went into my room and changed into pyjamas. I decided that I didn't feel like sleeping in my own bed and wanted to be with Dan. Quietly I tiptoed into his room and knelled by the side of his bed. "Daaaan", I whispered, "can I sleep in here with you?" He sleepily moved over a bit and lifted up his blanket. I crawled in next to him and laid my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me and fell right back to sleep. I kissed his head before falling asleep myself.
