500 years before the Archon War

A man was seen walking endlessly with a cart of big jars covered in white cloth. His white horse follows his endless trail as he walks through the lonely road. The man with amber eyes flickers all around the empty streets. Walking and walking, following the trail of the wingless bird that flies with the wind through the illuminating white moon.

Prior to his continuous walking, he saw a small camp where a man was standing, sharpening his golden blade. The said man has long, bit-slicked back hair that was by the bottom. Some bangs were falling on the man's face, but his features remain seen. The man who was fancily sitting with his dark and golden dagua, glanced up as he felt a presence before him.

"You look restless. Sit before me, and I shall serve you my finest wine to give you stamina." By that, the brunette man walked back to his camp of goods, where his guest noticed a hint of golden locks by the bottom of his hair. It was unusual for humans to have that kind kind of hair, what they believe is that only Archons before them has those.

Shrugging off his thoughts, he sat down at the table mentioned by the brunette head man. He watched quietly as the tall man prepared wines and food for him. There was not much waiting, so the man went back and handed the food. Without thanks, he grabbed the offer and stuffed them on his mouth. It's been so long since he had this appetite.

"Quite the travel, young man. What are you looking for? Perhaps you look for gold or thousands of moras."

"The guest house."

"What?" The brunette man was taken by surprise as he said those words. Once again he looked up at the brunnette man. ❝I heard there's a guest house somewhere in this wilderness that consoles souls of the dead.❞

The brunette man gave him a small smile with a hint of mischievousness and hidden brinks of pity. "What's your name, mortal?" The questioned man stopped chewing in a bit of surprise, looking up at the brunette man, thinking, 'Is he indeed immortal or perhaps the God of Contracts himself?'.

With a sigh, he simply replied, "Alatus."

The brunette man towered over him with a paper and Shui-mo. "Sign the Contract, and you shall reach your destination."

Alatus was about to reach for the ink pen when the man before him, who he now knew as Rex Lapis because of how he dealt with the contract, pulled back the pen and paper he offered. With a frown, Alatus looked up at the man with his deadly piercing glare. However, the God himself did not even budge.

"I shall know why you are looking for the Guest House."

With that in mind, Alatus was unable to speak up but his mind wandered through his eventful past.

The wind was twirling high as it made the wheat and flowers dance with its direction. The quietness enveloping Alatus was undeniably terrifying but still is less scary to the person walking by the middle.

Alatus' right hand gripped the handle of his bloodied spear as he heard the ranging sounds of horses' foot steps rushing towards his direction. Within seconds, mileliths has encircled his lonely form. His horse neighed and panicked knowing that the fatui are Alatus' enemies, but was calmed by the emotionless Alatus.

Normally people would tremble in fear if they were cornered by these men, but Alatus is different. With his great strategic planning, his strength, and his grudge, he can easily defeat these mileliths by blows.

As if the wind is with him, Alatus plunges attacks the fatuis with his mighty spears. Mere minutes later, they all down. By all it means the fatuis. Alatus looked at his bloody hands. The hands that killed more than a hundred of people. The hands that killed a whole kingdom. He carries all his sins.

He looked at the fallen fatuis and one by one burned them to ash, praying for their trips to wherever they belong. He plans to bring them to the Guest House where they all deserve to be treated well.

He then continued his way to find, The Guess House of the Moon.

"I see." Rex Lapis muttered to himself as Alatus surprisingly looked up at him. Rex Lapis gave him a small smile. "I see your story, I hear them. I listen to them. As your God, I will guide you your way to bring these people what they truly deserve."

Alatus frowned questioning the man's actions but he then remembered that this man before him is Rex Lapis himself. The God of Contracts. "What shall I bring for return?"

"Your commitment."

Alatus raised his eyebrows with a an unbelieving grin, "That's easy."

"You shall be an adeptus bound by my contract. An adeptus willing to protect my people. A guardian adeptus. Sign this contract and you shall seek the answer that you've been trying to loook for."

Alatus looked at the written contract before him that was handed by the God. He read each things carefully and found this one condition rather intriguing.

❝You shall repent for your sins. Tied within the abyss of your wrongs. One shall be broken as time goes on.❞

A hint of confusion was seen on the mortal's face earning a bit of chuckle from the Archon. "Why the long face? You can't easily get the power without proving yourself righteous. Corrupts shall fall in a powered position, for they are weak by the eyes of the crowd."

Alatus unlikely understood the words of Rex Lapis but somehow got his point. He looked at the contract and the cart he brought with him. With a hinch of breath, he signed the endless contract that was bound to chain him in eternal.

Alatus felt power through him, and slowly, his once ragged clothes were changed into a white sleeveless shirt with a black collar, dark purple pants, and dark purple boots. He had black and dark turquoise gloves with gold decals and a necklace. Around his left arm, Alatus wears a white and gold sleeve with a red lining. A green tattoo rose through his muscled arms. He noticed the changes by himself. Suddenly, the whole surrounding erupts, and there he hears Rex Lapis say,
