"Xiao, where the fuck are you?"

You groaned as you stood by Guili Plains. It isn't your time for work yet, however, you really want to study the case of Mitsuri and Obanai. Xiao suddenly appeared beside you, making you yelp in surprise. "Seriously? Are you always going to pop out of nowhere?"

"You called for me, didn't you?" Xiao raised his left eyebrow on you. You giggled lightly before pulling Xiao to a much farther place. "Well, it's just, I saw the ghost of the woman from room 404."

Xiao held your shoulders. "Are you okay? Did she hurt you?" Xiao looks so concerned for you, which made you smile a bit. "No, Xiao, she didn't." He let go of your shoulders before sighing, "What are we going to do? How are we going to bring her back to the hotel, and what is her goal?"

"Well, her goal contains something about her lover, which is Iguro Obanai." You pulled out the books. "These books aren't long, so we can finish these within the day. I'll have Mitsuri's and you'll have Obanai's."

"Sounds good. So where are we going to read these?"

"How about, an amusement park? Silly, of course, the library!"

"So in summary, Mitsuri and Obanai died with each other, however, their souls remained because they promised each other that they'll marry once they are reborn." You said. "They weren't able to be reborn yet because the serpent from Obanai's past has tied him before he can go to the afterlife, and Mitsuri's soul does not want to leave without him."

"Mitsuri has become so dangerous because of her desire and trauma from the demonic war before. In terms of Obanai..." Xiao paused before glancing at you with his eyes. "I think I know where his soul is."

"Are you sure about this, Xiao?" You stood scared in front of the door. Xiao just nodded at you which you returned with a disgusted face. "Bitch, last time you told me to go into one of these rooms, I almost died!"

"But you didn't." You rolled your eyes at Xiao and said, "You all told me before that I shouldn't enter Room 13 and Room 404, now here I am about to enter the depths of hell. I almost died in room 404 okay?"

"I protected you." He said without any emotions. "Yeah but-", Xiao held your chin and made you face him, "I'm here now, I'll be protecting you." Your face flushed red as Xiao let go of you. 'Stupid ghost, stupid boss, stupid Xiao.'

Xiao was to reach the doorknob before he paused, "The serpent your father stole before, was given by Obanai. It was named Kabarumaru, as a tribute to his white snake. I would say, Obanai has a grudge against you and your father."

You rolled your eyes and smiled at him, "You'll be protecting me, aren't you?" Xiao gave a small smile before entering the dark room.

"First Form: Winding Serpent Slash"

Several slashes were aimed at you and Xiao which the adepti blocked. "My, my, you really are strong." A heterochromatic-eyed ghost appeared before you. He looks rather scary and yet, blind. 

"What are you doing here?" The ghost said. His open scar was bleeding along with his eyes. Big slashes can be seen on his face. 'He must've fought really well, until the end.' You thought as you scanned the serpent man.

"We are here to free you from the serpent demon," Xiao said as he glares at the man who glared back. "I am stuck here. I cannot break free from this demon even if Kitbutsuji died! I cannot live a perfectly normal life at all!" He whined before attacking Xiao with his curved blade which the man blocked.

"About that... we may have a way.." You started. You faced Obanai with a brave face. "Mitsuri." With one word, Obanai was suddenly in front attacking you with his Xiao, within seconds Xiao blocked it with his polearm. Xiao glared at Obanai, "Hurt her. I'll kill you, and bring you to hell along with the other demons."

"Get away Adeptus. She knows something about Mitsuri." Obanai kept on attacking while Xiao kept on blocking. "We know because Mitsuri's soul is still waiting for you!"

Obanai stopped and looked at Xiao and your scared form. "What do you mean?" He asked in shock. "Mitsuri, she's been wandering around looking for a green sock. The sock must have held memories."

"I gave it to her before," Obanai said, his sword dropped, and knelt while crying. "Mitsuri... I promised her... I promised to keep her safe..."

You looked at Obanai in pity before kneeling before him, you pat his head and smiled, which Iguro looked up. "We'll bring her to you, and we'll keep you both safe. But first, we'll have to kill the spirit of that serpent demon."

You, Xiao, and Obanai stood before the underground in the Chasm. It was deep and dark, you shivered as Xiao held your hand which gives you a slight comfort from being scared. "The serpent stays here hidden in plain sight."

"A woman." Suddenly a woman with half snake and have human body came out attacking you. Xiao realized his hold before attacking the snake. The snake flinched at the sight and laughed, "Ahh! Adeptus Xiao! Your karmic dept is going to kill you here!"

You stood in shock as you remembered the curses the adeptis faced. You groaned as you watch Xiao struggle and struggle more. Obanai cannot move because of the curse from his spirit. "You know what, fuck it, I'm going to kill this bitch. May the anemo god protect me. Fuck the god if he doesn't" You whispered before taking the sword out of Obanai's hand and blocking the incoming attack of the serpent to Xiao.

"Oh, the delicious young lady stepped in. Let me devour your soul!" It attacked you which you successfully blocked once again. "What you doing?" Xiao groaned it was evident in his voice that the more he uses his power the harder the karmic debt attacks him.

"Stop and rest just trust me." You smiled. Those words. Xiao remembers those words. The sudden deja vu gave him a headache making him sit beside Iguro. "Are you alright?" Iguro asked, Xiao nodded as he tries to remain calm because of the curse.

"Well seems like it's you and me, you cannot beat me at all." The serpent grinned. You chuckled before smirking "I know, but she can."
